ADAIR 37, SALINA 22

2A-2's #3 Salina opened up district play at home against #4 Salina and there was no doubt that the stakes were high in this district opener as the winner would have a massive advantage in the chase for the district crown. And it was apparent from the start that it was going to be an absolute slugfest throughout the night in northeastern Oklahoma. It was also a flag fest as Salina had quite a few calls go against them throughout the first half that ultimately put them in a hole that they couldn't climb out of. The Warriors had a balanced attack throughout the night and won another regular season game. They look like a serious contender in Class 2A-2 and this class feels like it's getting more and more wide open throughout the season. Don't overlook Salina bouncing back moving forward.

BIXBY 66, JENKS 35

It was the main event of week four as top-ranked Bixby traveled to face #2 Jenks in a massive 6A-1 showdown. And for the first two quarters, it lived up to that "big fight feel" hype. Both teams exchanged massive blows throughout the first two quarters. Ultimately, it was a Bixby knockout in the second half as they prevailed 66-35 on Friday night. There were big plays everywhere and multiple players were shining. Bixby went into the half with a 38-35 lead. Both teams exchanged the lead in the first two quarters. But while the Spartans kept their foot on the gas, they also started to contain the Jenks offense. Bixby outscored Jenks 28-0 in the second half to run away with the win. The final score can make it look like a one-sided affair but it really didn't play out like that. Sign us up for a playoff rematch.

CHOCTAW 40, PIEDMONT 29

For top-ranked and defending champion Choctaw, week four's game with Piedmont was not just the district opener, it was the home opener and it felt good to be home. After playing in Texas, Kansas and Bixby to start the season, the Yellowjackets finally got to play in front of the home fans and they took advantage. They beat #5 Piedmont 40-29 on Friday night. Choctaw started fast, jumping out to a 15-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. But Piedmont never went away and this game was competitive for all four quarters. In fact, the Wildcats scored early in the fourth quarter to take a 29-28 lead. But every time Piedmont made a move, Choctaw always had an answer. The Yellowjackets immediately retook the lead and then added another touchdown with two minutes left to prevail.

DEL CITY 24, COLLINSVILLE 21

We had some stunning finishes all over the state but this match-up of top ten teams in Class 5A was certainly up there. Del City prevailed, beating Collinsville 24-21 on Friday night after kicking a game-winning field goal with just a few seconds remaining. This was the polar opposite of how last season's meeting went. Del City beat Collinsville 61-10 last season but this year's match-up was close throughout and the Cardinals had a lead for a lot of the game. Del City tied the game at 21 late in the third quarter and both teams exchanged blows in the fourth quarter but it was Del City that hit the final blow. Collinsville had a brutal turnover late in the fourth quarter that set Del City up with great field position. The Eagles booted the short field goal and then stopped Collinsville as time expired to prevail.

DIBBLE 28, DAVIS 27 (OT)

In the biggest upset of week four, Dibble took down top-ranked and defending champion Davis in overtime on Friday night. The Demons won 28-27 in OT and sent quite the statement to the rest of Class 2A-2 that they are a team to take very seriously moving forward. Dibble trailed 21-14 in the fourth quarter and they were running out of time but scored with a little over three minutes remaining to tie the game at 21. Both teams came up short at the end of regulation and went into overtime. The defending champs had the ball first and would score and decided to go for the two point conversion. The Wolves came up short and that opened the door for a Dibble upset in front of the home fans. The Demons scored and kicked the extra point to complete the week four stunner.

FORT GIBSON 47, WAGONER 25

Fort Gibson cashed in on multiple Wagoner turnovers to put the Bulldogs in an early hole that they ultimately weren't able to climb out of, beating Wagoner 47-25 on Friday night. With the win, Fort Gibson has made quite the statement to the rest of this district that they need to be taken seriously as not only a team to watch in the district but in Class 4A in general. Fort Gibson jumped out to a 24-7 lead at the end of the first quarter but the Bulldogs didn't fold. They would score twice in the second quarter to pull within a possession at halftime. But Fort Gibson would outscore the Bulldogs 23-8 in the second half to run away with the statement win to open up district play. This is a district that has been terrorized by Wagoner for many years but we could be entering a new era.

MUSTANG 36, MOORE 35

Mustang saw the return of their star quarterback but they also had an absolute dog fight with Moore on the road Friday night. The Broncos would ultimately prevail, winning 36-35 in a game that went down to the wire. These two teams were all knotted up at 29 with less than four minutes to play. That star quarterback would throw an absolute dart over the middle and the receiver did the rest of the work for a 70+ yard touchdown to go up 36-29. Moore would block a Mustang punt with less than a minute to play to set up a short field. The Lions would strike on a touchdown pass to make it 36-35. Instead of going for the tying extra point, the Lions decided to go for the potential win. But the Mustang defense held firm on the goal line and came up with a stop that handed the Broncos the win.

NORMAN NORTH 49, EDMOND MEMORIAL 48 (OT)

All eyes were on that Bixby-Jenks showdown but Norman North's 49-48 win in overtime over Edmond Memorial took the title for game of the night in Class 6A-1. Edmond Memorial dominated this game for the first three quarters and it looked like the Bulldogs were going to roll to another win. Norman North stormed back in the fourth quarter, erasing a 21-point deficit in the final quarter to force overtime. Led by their emerging stars at the quarterback and running back positions, Norman North would prevail in the extra period. Edmond Memorial scored first but didn't get the conversion so that opened the door for Norman North to complete the comeback. They scored a touchdown, kicked the extra point and walked off with a very dramatic 49-48 victory in overtime.

OWASSO 28, BROKEN ARROW 14

The Bixby-Jenks game wasn't the only 6A-1 match-up featuring top five teams. #3 Owasso traveled to face #4 Broken Arrow on Friday night and wore down the Tigers with a relentless rushing attack but also a balanced offense to prevail 28-14. Similar to the Bixby-Jenks showdown, this game felt like a stalemate in the first half, although it didn't have the 70+ combined points that we saw in Jenks. It was tied at 7 at halftime. But the Rams outscored the Tigers 21-7 and finished with nearly 300 yards on the ground and nearly 500 yards of total offense while holding the Tigers to under 300 yards of total offense. The Rams have now won their last two after starting the season 0-2. But more importantly, the Rams are now in the driver's seat for the district crown but there's a lot of football still to be played.

SULPHUR 42, PERKINS-TRYON 20

Down in southern Oklahoma, Sulphur scored a 42-20 victory over Perkins-Tryon in a match-up of top five teams in Class 3A. This game was another example of a very close match-up until the floodgates opened. Perkins-Tryon missed a field goal that would have given them a 23-21 lead, late in the third quarter. After that, the Bulldogs continued to get the ball to their star senior running back and he put the game away in the final quarter. Sulphur scored on the first play after the missed field goal from Perkins-Tryon. They added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to make the final score look like a dominant win but it was ultimately not indicative of how competitive this game was throughout the first three quarters. Both teams look like serious threats in Class 3A.
