District play continues this week and we have some more match-ups that could very well decide who takes home the district championship. There will be several games this week that end up deciding the district championship. We break them all down right here. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day this week to get ready for week five!

#3 ADA (4-0) AT #6 POTEAU (4-0)

This is the first of two showdowns from this district featuring top six teams in Class 4A. #3 Ada hits the road to face off with #6 Poteau. Both teams are unbeaten and they come into this week with two very different teams. Ada is incredibly experienced. They have one of the more battle-tested rosters in Class 4A and the continuity has definitely shined so far this season. On the other side of the match-up, you have a Poteau team that is playing under a first year head coach, changing up their offensive philosophy and they have some serious young talent coming up. But there is no doubt that this game will be very important in the district standings. The winner stays in the race while the loser is going to have no room for error and might still need help.

#7 MULDROW (4-0) AT CHECOTAH (3-1)

In Class 3A, #7 Muldrow looks to stay undefeated Friday night when they travel to face Checotah. The Wildcats are hoping for a home win and with that, jump into the top ten for Class 3A. Last season, Checotah made that unpredictable run to the 3A semifinals and they are determined that they are still among the best of the best in Class 3A. For Muldrow, the Bulldogs are simply looking to take the next step this season. It's been a while since they've made a deep playoff run but they have the athletes to challenge in Class 3A this season. This match-up features several offensive playmakers on both sides. The winner of this match-up will stay in the district title race while the loser will have a lot of work to do moving forward.

#1 CHOCTAW (2-2) AT #4 PUTNAM CITY (3-1)

Five of the top six teams in our Class 6A-2 rankings are all in the same district so the gauntlet slate continues for top-ranked Choctaw. Last week, they beat Piedmont and this week, they travel to Putnam City. The defending champs have a tough start to the season with four of their first five games coming away from home. They'll look for another win when they face a Putnam City team that's on the rise. The Pirates have bounced back from a season-opening loss to Yukon by winning their last three games. But there's no doubt that Choctaw will be the toughest test for the Pirates so far this season. But Putnam City has a roster that's capable of winning and if that happens Friday, the Pirates will be a serious title contender.

#5 HOLLAND HALL (4-0) AT #1 LINCOLN CHRISTIAN (4-0)

Top-ranked Lincoln Christian plays host to #5 Holland Hall in a match-up of top five and unbeaten teams. The Bulldogs have had the edge over the Dutch over the last several years. They've won three straight in the series, including a 50+ point victory last season. Lincoln Christian could potentially be better this year than the last two title teams. For Holland Hall, it wasn't that long ago that they were on top of Class 3A. In fact, their two state championships in 2020 and 2021 came at the expense of Lincoln Christian. And the Dutch have been fantastic to start this season. All four wins this season have been by 20+ points and they could be the toughest regular season challenger to Lincoln Christian's 32-game winning streak.

#2 JENKS (3-1) AT #6 NORMAN (4-0)

It's east against west in Class 6A-1 right here as #2 Jenks goes on the road to face #6 Norman. For the Trojans, they are looking to bounce back following last week's tough loss to top-ranked Bixby. Jenks traded punches with Bixby for two quarters but fizzled in the second half. They will be looking to play all four quarters and bounce back in a major way on Friday night. Norman continues to prove everybody wrong and we need to start taking them very seriously. They went 9-1 during the regular season last year, becoming one of the top contenders in Class 6A-1. This season, they've picked up right where they left off. They are 4-0 on the season but there is no doubt that Friday night's clash with the Trojans will be their toughest test.

#5 MILLWOOD (1-2) AT #2 JONES (4-0)

It's the top game in Class 2A-1 as #2 Jones hosts #5 Millwood and what a difference a year makes. Last year, Jones was the underdog, going on the road and coming up short in a Millwood rout. This year, the Longhorns are the favorites and they'll look to repay the favor from last season. Jones has been on fire since the season kicked off. They've won every game by 20+ points and they've already been challenged. For Millwood, the Falcons are looking to pick up some momentum after a rare 0-2 start to this season. And when you look at this district, the Falcons need to pick up momentum in a big way. This district also features two other top ten teams in Mount St. Mary and OCS. The winner here takes another step forward in district.

#7 PAWNEE (3-1) AT #2 PAWHUSKA (5-0)

In one of two marquee match-ups in Class A-1 Friday night, #2 Pawhuska hosts #7 Pawnee. The Huskies have looked fantastic so far this season, led by a completely balanced offense and a defense that plays the game with a relentless energy. That defense will be tested Friday night as they host Pawnee and their star running back. The Black Bears might have the best running back in Class A-1 and the match-up between him and the Pawnee offense and the Pawhuska defense is definitely going to be fun to watch. The winner of this game is going to be in the driver's seat for the district championship. But more than that, it's a match-up featuring two teams that could very well make a trip to Edmond in December to contend for the gold ball.

#1 REJOICE CHRISTIAN (3-1) AT #3 POCOLA (3-1)

It's the game of the week across Oklahoma and we'll be on the Arkansas-Oklahoma border as #1 Rejoice Christian travels to Pocola to face the #3 Indians. These two teams played a high-scoring game last season and it would be surprising if both offenses don't exploded again this week. Having said that, the game feels like it will come down to the defenses and who can get some stops and get their offense back on the field. Both teams have firepower everywhere, making this a very fun game to watch on Friday night. Rejoice Christian finally kicked that door down and won the state championship a year ago. Pocola is now looking to take that same path this season. The first step down that path comes on Friday night when they host the defending champs.

#5 SALLISAW (3-1) AT #4 BROKEN BOW (4-0)

In the other Class 4A showdown, it's #4 Broken Bow hosting #5 Sallisaw. While Ada at Poteau is a headliner, this game feels like the main event. You have two top five teams going head to head on Friday night. Both teams have won at a very high level this season but have done it in different ways. Sallisaw uses a relentless rushing attack, featuring multiple running backs while Broken Bow is led by arguably the most electric playmaker in the state at the quarterback position. Just like with the Ada-Poteau match-up, this will certainly have a major impact on the district standings. Broken Bow is undefeated and they've been rolling in the last two weeks. Sallisaw has won three straight games following a tough week zero loss to 5A's #3 Pryor.

#9 UNION (1-3) AT #3 OWASSO (2-2)

At the start of this season if you were told that these two teams would be a combined 3-5 coming into this district match-up, you probably wouldn't believe it. #3 Owasso hosts #9 Union in a very important district clash. The Rams have bounced back from an 0-2 start by winning the last two, including a big road win over Broken Arrow last week. For Union, it's been a brutal start, where they've started 0-3 before beating Edmond Santa Fe last week. The storylines for this one write themselves. Last season, Antonio Graham was the head coach of the Rams, leading them to a 12-1 record and a 6A-1 Runner Up finish. A few days later, he was introduced as the next head coach of the Redhawks. He returns to Owasso Friday night.
