Week 7 – Favorites Are Rising To The Top

We are now more than halfway through the 2025 high school football season, and you can already see that the top programs are still flexing their collective muscles.
As we watched in Week 6, many of the programs that have been close to the top and are among the elite Top 30 Prep Redzone Florida teams are still playing at a high level.
This is the time of year when district battles are taking place – and while some teams are falling off – others have put themselves in a position to make a serious run when the state playoffs begin in just about six weeks.
While many programs remain unbeaten and unranked, there are district games coming up that will most definitely separate the contenders from the pretenders.
Here is a look at this week's top programs:
1 Bradenton IMG Academy (Independent, 5-0). The Ascenders remained perfect with a convincing 49-14 win over Phenix Central, Alabama. THIS WEEK: @ No. 27 Venice. NEXT WEEK: Bye.
2. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (5A, 4-1). The Raiders were off this past week. THIS WEEK: Back to district play with a home game against Hollywood Hills. NEXT WEEK: Bye.
3. Miami Northwestern (3A, 4-1). The Bulls gained a forfeit in their annual “Soul Bowl” against Miami Jack. THIS WEEK: 10/4 - @ No. 4 Miami Central. NEXT WEEK: 10/11 - Key West.
4. Miami Central (3A, 3-0). The Rockets were off. THIS WEEK: 10/4 – No. 3 Miami Northwestern. NEXT WEEK: 10/6 – Pompano Beach & 10/10 – Fort Lauderdale Stranahan.
5. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (1A, 4-1). The Lions rolled to a 56-0 win against 7A Davie Western. THIS WEEK: 10/3 – Coconut Creek Monarch. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 – Pompano Beach Blanche Ely.
6. Seffner Armwood (6A, 6-0). The Hawks continued to dominate the competition with a 40-0 win against Tampa Plant. THIS WEEK: Bye. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 - @Tampa Sickles.
7. Jacksonville Raines (3A, 4-0). The Vikings continue to dominate the competition, 49-0, over Jacksonville Riverside. THIS WEEK: 10/4 – Jacksonville Ribault. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 – Madison County.
8. Miami Southridge (6A, 5-0). The Spartans continued to impress with a 59-18 win against Homestead. rolled to their fourth straight win, beating Doral Academy, 42-7. THIS WEEK: 10/3 – Miami Edison. NEXT WEEK: 10/6 – Complete Miami Christopher Columbus game. 10/10 – Southwest Miami.
9. Orlando Edgewater (5A, 6-0). The Eagles showed why they are indeed going to be a problem, beating Longwood Lyman, 84-0. rolled to their fifth straight, 35-0 over Apopka. THIS WEEK: 10/3 - @Winter Park. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 - @Winter Springs.
10. Vero Beach (7A, 5-0). The Indians won the battle of unbeatens with Fort Pierce Central, 21-13. THIS WEEK: 10/3 – Miami Booker T. Washington. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 – Rockledge.
11. West Boca Raton (6A, 4-1). The Bulls continued to roll along with a 53-0 win against to a 50-6 win against Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer. THIS WEEK: 10/3 – Davie Western. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 - @Royal Palm Beach.
12. Lakeland (5A, 4-1). The Dreadnaughts had no problem with rival Lakeland Lake Gibson, 40-0. THIS WEEK: 10/3 – Riverview Sumner. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 – Sebring.
13. Saint Augustine (4A, 6-0). The Yellow Jackets came up with a 41-21 win against previously unbeaten Lake City Columbia. won the battle with No. 24 Ponte Vedra Nease, 28-24. THIS WEEK: 9/26 – Bye. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 - @Green Cove Springs Clay.

15. Jacksonville Bolles (2A, 5-1). The Bulldogs stayed hot with an offensive show against Baldwin, 73-49. rolled to a convincing 38-6 win against Orange Park Oakleaf. THIS WEEK: Bye. NEXT GAME: Jacksonville Andrew Jackson.
16. Sarasota Cardinal Mooney (2A, 4-1). The Cougars rolled to a 49-14 win against Fort Myers Bishop Verot. THIS WEEK: 10/3 - @ No. 17 Clearwater Central Catholic. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 – No. 21 St. Petersburg Lakewood.
17. Clearwater Central Catholic (1A, 6-0). The Marauders continued to stay unbeaten, beating Largo Indian Rocks Christian, 52-6. THIS WEEK: 10/3 – No. 16 Sarasota Cardinal Mooney. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 - @Zephyrhills Christian.
18. Orlando The First Academy (Independent, 4-2). The Royals won for the fourth straight time against Havana Gadsden County, 45-14. THIS WEEK: 10/3 - @Baltimore St. Frances Academy, Maryland. NEXT WEEK: Bye.
19. Fort Lauderdale Dillard (4A, 6-0). The Panthers hit 60 for the third time this year in a 65-0 district win against Riviera Beach Suncoast. THIS WEEK: 10/4 - Pompano Beach Blanche Ely. NEXT WEEK: 10/10 - @Lake Worth Dr. Joaquin Garcia.
