Week 5 Recap- Standout Offensive Performances Across the State

What a week!   Today, we're watching some of our Standout Performers on the offensive side of the ball. These prospects dominated this week and have been putting together some impressive seasons- we're all going to have to watch out for them moving forward.   With that being said, make sure you watch their film below!    Corey Barber has been unstoppable over the past two seasons and had one of his best games to date this past Friday against Thompson.   “Barber is highly athletic and plays with a ton of speed and quickness out wide. He flies downfield, gains tons of separation, and constantly finds ways to get open everywhere on the field. Barber is a physical matchup nightmare for DBs. He makes impressive grabs using his size, catch radius, and body control– it's really impressive seeing how he positions himself to haul in passes.   After the catch- good luck stopping Barber, he is a problem and can shake off tackles and create huge plays downfield off of shorter passes.“   Barber went off in his team's win over Thompson. He hauled in 7 receptions for 135 yards and one TD, with 9 carries for 87 yards and 2 TDs on the ground as well.   You've got to see some of Barber's film from this past week. Make sure you watch below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1354216' first='Kingston' last='Preyear'] is the top QB in our 2028 Rankings, and has continued to find more success throughout his sophomore year.   “Preyear has unreal arm talent and can place the ball anywhere on the field- he has a strong arm, can throw with a lot of touch and accuracy, and hits his targets perfectly in stride downfield. Preyear is also terrific at navigating the pocket- he's elusive and doesn't let pressure get to him, can extend plays and make throws on the run, and is great at avoiding sacks.   Another impressive part of Preyear's game is his mobility- he can create huge plays with his legs. On tape, he frequently carved up defenses for big gains off of zone reads and just by scrambling, he's a seriously dynamic QB who can truly beat you in every way.“   In his team's win over Charles Henderson, Preyear completed 9/10 passes for 153 yards and 4 TDs, with another 18 yards on the ground.   Preyear has continued to prove why he's one of the top QB prospects in the state/country this season. Make sure you check out some of his film from this year:      [player_tooltip player_id='1883190' first='Charlie' last='Skipper'] is a talented 2028 QB who has been playing lights out this season for Wetumpka.   “Skipper is accurate, can make throws on the move, and has the legs to create a ton of big gains on the ground as well. I'm impressed with Skipper's arm talent; he can deliver some beautiful passes at every level of the field and is a great decision maker with the ball. He quickly scans the field to find the open man and consistently makes great reads to move the ball upfield.“   Skipper completely took over in his team's game against Eufaula. He completed 19/25 passes for 374 yards and 3 TDs, with another 57 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.   Wetumpka's offense was completely unstoppable this week, and Skipper was a big reason why. You've got to check out some of his film below, you'll be impressed:      [player_tooltip player_id='1163813' first='Jayden' last='James'] is an up-and-coming RB out of Alma Bryant who had a huge week on the ground this week.   "James is a dynamic back capable of making plays on the ground and as a receiver- he's used in all sorts of ways within his team's offense and creates explosive plays whenever the ball is in his hands.   James is patient behind the line of scrimmage and has great vision. He waits for blocks to develop and capitalizes greatly, coming away with huge gains untouched. James is also quick on his feet and tough to stop in the open field. He can make defenders miss, change direction effortlessly, and has the speed to outrun entire defenses."   In his team's 18-13 win over Citronelle, James carried the ball 26 times for 122 yards and one TD.   I've been really impressed with James' play this season. He's a talented back who has found a lot of success over the last few weeks. Make sure you check out some of his film from this week below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1645040' first='Christian' last='Segar'] is a talented QB out of Daphne who's having a heck of a junior season this fall.   "Segar is a talented QB who takes care of the ball, goes through his progressions, and finds ways to move the chains every snap. Segar has some seriously impressive arm strength and can rip the ball through tight windows/lead his WRs deep downfield for huge gains.   I think what impressed me most about Segar was how well he could attack every level of the field. He throws a really nice deep ball, but can also deliver some strikes in the shorter/intermediate levels of the field to move the chains- no matter where his WRs are, you can count on Segar to get the ball there."   In his return to Spanish Fort, Segar was unstoppable. He completed 20/26 passes for 336 yards and 5 TDs, making every throw on the field look easy.
