We have Week 5 in the books and that means we're halfway through the season and by next Friday everyone will be into region play.

But before we look ahead to the final month of the regular season, let's look at the players from the Lower State that had outstanding performances on Friday night.

It's this week's edition of Game Balls – Lower State variety.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036733' first='Henry' last='Rivers'] QB and [player_tooltip player_id='1766224' first='John' last='Cleveland'] WR, Berkeley

The Stags were coming off a bye and they had a tune-up before region play in a 54-0 win over St. James. Rivers only played into the second quarter but finished 14-of-16 for 245 yards and four TD passes. Cleveland ended up being his top target with six catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1592547' first='Brody' last='Tonon'] LB and [player_tooltip player_id='1582108' first='Trevor' last='Tonon'] ATH, Bishop England

A lot of things went right for the Bishops in the 52-6 win over Woodland and a lot of it circled around the Tonon brothers. [player_tooltip player_id='1592547' first='Brody' last='Tonon'] scored three touchdowns, ran for 102 yards on seven carries, added two catches for 32 yards and registered six tackles on defense. [player_tooltip player_id='1582108' first='Trevor' last='Tonon'] did his damage on the defensive side of the ball with 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a caused fumble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820542' first='Johnny' last='Young'] LB and [player_tooltip player_id='1820550' first='Chris' last='Long'] LB, Blythewood

The Bengals defense was outstanding in the 46-0 win over Spring Valley. He later added a 20-yard TD to [player_tooltip player_id='816753' first='Rayvon' last='Green'] that ended up being the game-winner. They defeated Hammond 23-10 Friday night with Johnson throwing for over 200 yards and touchdown passes to Drew Wolf and [player_tooltip player_id='1734610' first='Aydan' last='Hogan']. The Skyhawks had allowed just 30 points in the first five games of the season, but Johnson and company were able to move the ball and come away with some success with Johnson being a key to a lot of that.

Silas Brawner QB, and [player_tooltip player_id='1065555' first='Grayson' last='Salego'] RB, Pinewood Prep

The duo of Brawner and Salego had a hand in nine touchdowns in a 69-28 win over Hilton Head Christian. Salego toted it 14 times for 125 yards and four scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='1149057' first='Spencer' last='Bobian'] RB and [player_tooltip player_id='1819592' first='Ryan' last='Williams'] RB, Ridge View

It didn't take long for the Blazers to jump to the lead in a 46-8 dismantling over Westwood and Bobian and Williams led the way. They both scored twice with Bobian leading the rushing attack with 191 yards rushing on a wet, rainy night. They scored all their touchdowns in the first half that helped Ridge View to jump to a 32-0 lead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1654810' first='Drelyn' last='Brown'] RB, Silver Bluff

Brown started the 49-6 rout of Barnwell in spectacular fashion before getting to rest in the second half. Brown scored on the Bulldogs first offensive snap on a 56-yard run. On the next series, he scored from 73 yards out then on the next offensive series added a 68-yard TD run. In those first three series, he was over 200 yards rushing on four attempts. He finished his night with 219 yards on nine rushes. He also added a 10-yard touchdown reception to add to his overall special night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1816968' first='Eli' last='Pressley'] LB and [player_tooltip player_id='402500' first='Malachi' last='Washington'] LB, Summerville

The Green Wave starters only played a half, and they recorded a 48-0 win over Goose Creek in the final non-region game. Pressley returned a fumble 70 yards for a touchdown and added six tackles. Washington led the way on defense with eight tackles and three tackles for loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='1603974' first='Franklin' last='Richardson'] QB and [player_tooltip player_id='876560' first='Tymaries' last='Thompson-DuRant'] LB, Sumter

Richardson was electric Friday in the 57-42 shootout victory over Lugoff-Elgin.
