Week 3 Scouting Report: Fowlerville

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This game could have went either way. Fowlerville was a play away from winning this game. They could have went to OT with an extra point, but they opted to go for 2 and it didn't work out. Still, I came away impressed with multiple players and just impressed with the team as a whole. Great size, great sheer strength and the ability to get loose play after play. On top of that, he was also a solid offensive lineman who was able to run block extremely well, and his pass blocking was really solid as well. I also learned through some research he is a really good wrestler as well, which definitely showed up in his play. Below are some of the notes I took on his performance: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Great push up front, able to knock linemen off balance with a great initial drive </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Run stopper, able to hold down his gap with ease </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Very disciplined offensive lineman, didn't lean or get feet crossed. It seemed like he was in on every play. He was filling gaps in the run and was all over from sideline to sideline. This is another discovery I have no doubt I will be talking more about. Below are the notes I jotted down on his performance: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Great run stuffer, multiple instances of beating the ball carrier to the point of attack </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Shed blocks. Maybe the highlight of the night was the interception he had when a SJ receiver bobbled it and he was able to capitalize. One play in particular I almost got ran over because he had his DB picked up and carried darn near out of the stadium. Between short and intermediate throws with great timing to deep balls with great touch, Sam was making really high level throws all night.
