Week 2 Scouting Report: Jackson Lumen Christi

Defensively, I was really impressed with his ability to shed blocks and fly downhill to make the tackle. He brought some big-time hits that the offense wasn't expecting throughout the night. Offensively, he was able to get the ball in his hands and drag defenders with him. He has the speed, size and toughness to run both inside and outside and be effective. Easily the top performer of the night, he was able to slice and dice the defense with ease. In a game that saw a combined 88 points, it felt like every time he got the ball in his hands he was taking it to the house again. He ended his absolutely dominant night with 6 total touchdowns. Like I said, there was just no answer for him at all. I was impressed with a couple of reps in particular where he sniffed out a couple of screens and was able to beat his blocker to the spot to blow the play up. The natural instincts and football IQ was very evident from him all night long. When he did go in for the tackle, he didn't arm tackle or duck his head. He kept his head up, was able to put his hat on the ball and wrap up. I was really impressed with one play in particular where he was able to keep his concentration and used some quick reaction time to catch a ball falling to the ground that had been tipped. That ended up being a major momentum boost and was able to move the sticks for them. This season, it seems he has taken that next step. Besides being a great run stuffer and gap controller, he caused a little more chaos and was even more disruptive than I remember him being last season. He looks bigger but also more physically fit and athletic. I loved the way he was able to get off the ball first and stay low as he shot the gap. Blockers had a hard time beating him to the point of attack. Great overall performance for Keegan. He's a darkhorse for being one of the better defensive linemen in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
