Washington Huskies set to host bluechip Northwest prospect group

The Washington Huskies are 3-0 and are set to host the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday.   Under Jedd Fisch, Washington has seemingly cranked up its in-state recruiting efforts and is hoping to put the days of missing out on J.T. Tuimoloau, Josh Conerly Jr., Emeka Egbuka (and others) far behind them.    There's been obvious progress on that front in the class of 2026, as Washington has secured commitments from several top in-state prospects and has appeared on the visit schedule for dozens of underclassmen.   In fact, nearly all of the top 2027 prospects in Washington intend to be at Husky Stadium on Saturday.   This weekend's game will shine a bright light on the program, one that is surging behind the dynamic offensive trio of Demond Williams Jr., Jonah Coleman and Denzel Boston, an improving offensive line and a button-up secondary.   Hoping to utilize that spotlight, Washington is rolling out the purple carpet and the list of recruiting VIPs is quickly turning into a "who's who" of top prospects in the Northwest.    Here's a look at who is visiting (list subject to change):   Class of 2026    Mater Dei OL Kodi Greene — Committed to Washington   The five-star offensive tackle is the headliner of Washington's class.   He will be in attendance and doesn't plan to visit any other schools.    “I'm completely locked in and I don't see myself taking any other visits besides the Washington Huskies,” he said.    Why is he listed among the Northwest recruits?   Greene lived in Washington growing up and spent his first two high school seasons at Eastside Catholic before transferring to the California national power ahead of his junior year.   Kennedy Catholic DL [player_tooltip player_id='402789' first='Derek' last='Colman-Brusa'] — Committed to Washington    The 6-foot-5, 270-pound defender is the top in-state recruit in the class of 2026.   His commitment to the Huskies is a positive sign for the in-state recruiting effort.   *O'Dea DL David Schwerzel - De-committed from UCLA recently   *Added to my list. Confirmed Monday evening.   Four-star defensive lineman David Schwerzel is making a gameday visit to Washington.   Remember, he just recently decommitted from UCLA and Washington was a serious contender the first time around.   Second time around, maybe they get it done.   Mount Tahoma CB [player_tooltip player_id='1165368' first='Elijah' last='Durr'] — Committed to Washington    [player_tooltip player_id='1165368' first='Elijah' last='Durr'] committed in March, choosing the Huskies over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Illinois, Michigan State and others.   Durr is a three-star cornerback who is a two-way standout in high school.    Puyallup OL [player_tooltip player_id='1165418' first='Ah' last='Deong Yang'] — Committed to Washington    A monster 6-foot-3, 340-pound interior lineman, [player_tooltip player_id='1165418' first='Ah' last='Deong Yang'] committed to Washington last November.   There aren't many athletic, 340-pound high school bodies, so he's worth the time it will take to develop him.   Annie Wright DL [player_tooltip player_id='1704144' first='Ta'a' last='Malu'] — Committed to Washington    A three-star defensive lineman, Ta'au Malu picked the Huskies after taking official visits to Arizona, Boise state, UNLV and Utah.   Lake Oswego tight end [player_tooltip player_id='457009' first='Sam' last='Vyhlidal'] — Committed to Washington    Arguably the top two-way player in Oregon, [player_tooltip player_id='457009' first='Sam' last='Vyhlidal'] was a first-team all-state performer at both tight end and linebacker as a junior.   He is a highly-productive athlete with a high motor who could turn into Washington's tone-setter.    Bethel LB [player_tooltip player_id='1655930' first='Ramzak' last='Fruean']   A rare uncommitted in-state 2026 prospect who is planning to be in Seattle this weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='1655930' first='Ramzak' last='Fruean'] is a three-star linebacker who holds nearly 20 offers and took official visits to Oregon State and UCLA.   Could Washington be closing in on a big move for the state's No. 3 prospect in 2026? This could be a crucial trip.    Class of 2027   Lincoln QB [player_tooltip player_id='1188085' first='Sione' last='Kaho']    [player_tooltip player_id='1188085' first='Sione' last='Kaho'] is a top-20 quarterback nationally with offers from Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Oregon, Stanford, Utah, Washington and others.   The 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal-caller is the top passer in the Northwest - maybe In any class - and could be a crucial foundational piece of a class for whichever program lands him.    O'Dea DL [player_tooltip player_id='1599603' first='Tevita' last='Nonu']   Arguably the top 2027 prospect in Washington, [player_tooltip player_id='1599603' first='Tevita' last='Nonu'] is flirting with top-100 status nationally.   The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive lineman already holds offers from double-digit programs, highlighted by Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Notre Dame, Penn State, Washington and others.    West Linn (Oregon) cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden']    The four-star All-American cornerback is the son of former NFL first-round pick Alex Molden (Oregon) and the younger brother of Elijah Molden, a former Husky who is now in the NFL himself.   Molden is a special talent and has blossomed on both sides of the ball this year for West Linn.   He is rated one of the top players in the country and has an extremely high floor.   It's difficult to poke holes in Molden's play.   He's among the most fundamentally-sound defensive backs I've ever scouted and is a high-end athlete.    Puyalliup OL [player_tooltip player_id='1188082' first='Gecova' last='Doyal']    The state of Washington has several four-star prospects in the class of 2027, and Genova Doyal is one.   The 6-foot-3, 270-pound lineman already has a robust recruitment, as teams from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC have extended offers.   Sumner WR [player_tooltip player_id='1188109' first='Braylon' last='Pope']   Four-star wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1188109' first='Braylon' last='Pope'] is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound pass-catcher with double-digit offers already.   The talented pass-catcher has been offered by Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Miami, Oregon, USC, Washington and others.   Pope has a chance to rise in the process and establish himself as a legit 20-30-offer kid.    Puyallup WR [player_tooltip player_id='1188105' first='J'Isaiah' last='Mitchell']   A long, athletic 6-foot-5, 200-pound athlete, [player_tooltip player_id='1188105' first='J'Isaiah' last='Mitchell'] is flirting with double-digit offers and has a high ceiling.   He has made multiple trips to Washington for visits, so he is clearly one to watch.    Glacier Peak TE [player_tooltip player_id='1315611' first='Zach' last='Albright']    Washington has produced several good tight ends in recent years, and may get the next from within its borders.   Glacier Peak junior [player_tooltip player_id='1315611' first='Zach' last='Albright'] is a 6-foot-5, 205-pound playmaker with early offers from Cal, Michigan, Texas A&M, Washington and Wisconsin.   Lake Stevens EDGE Ty Taulolo   Yet another class of 2027 Washington prospect with double-digit offers already, Ty Taulolo a 6-foot-4, 210-pound edge-rusher flirting with four-star status.   He has offers from Cal, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M and others.    Graham-Kapowsin CB [player_tooltip player_id='928074' first='Maurice' last='Williams']   A four-star prospect with double-digit offers from Washington? You don't say.    Graham-Kapowsin cornerback is one of the best defensive back recruits in the Northwest and could add to Washington long-standing run of successful DB development.    Class of 2028   Eastside Catholic TE [player_tooltip player_id='1003593' first='Tytan' last='McNeal']   [player_tooltip player_id='1003593' first='Tytan' last='McNeal'] is a two-sport superstar who is rated a top-20 prospect nationally in the class of 2028, as well as the No. 1 tight end in the country.   The 6-foot-5, 210-pound playmaker has NFL size and athleticism.   It will be fascinating to see what the future holds for him.   McNeal is flat-out special.    Graham-Kapowsin QB A.J. Tuivaiave   The Graham-Kapowsin star is a lock to be a future four-star recruit, as he is listed as one of the top sophomore quarterbacks in America.   Clearly, the likes of Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Miami, Oregon and Washington have already seen enough.   They've all offered.    Graham-Kapowsin ATH [player_tooltip player_id='985348' first='Jayce' last='Halasz']   The 6-foot-2, 170-pound playmaker is part of a special group for GK.   A 4.0 student, Halasz is equally special on the field and is already drawing interest from the Big Ten, Pac-12 and others.
