The defensive back position is as valuable as ever in the current era of the game of football as opposing passing attacks have becoming even more dynamic at every level of the sport.

With that being said, identifying players early with the required length, closing quickness, and natural athleticism to play the position at a high level is something college programs strive to accomplish.

We take a look at a trio of defensive backs who have continued their late momentum from last season into strong starts for their respective schools as juniors and should see an increase in the amount of high-level Power Four attention they see come their way moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1260316' first='Loia' last='Valade'] was the Canadian transfer that nobody really seemed to talk about last offseason, but just kept making plays on the field, and was impossible to take off the field. He has good size and can get physical with a receiver while also possessing the quickness needed to make plays on the ball while in the air.

He went through a full offseason expecting to be the guy in the secondary this season and has the chance to really make a statement this season inside the top private school class in Tennessee.

He's started the season off strong already and has seen some top mid major offers come his way, but if the level of play continues against better passing attacks, those offers from Power Four programs should start to come in.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422977' first='Miles' last='Brown'] is another corner of the same mold with good size and physicality while having the quickness coming out of breaks to make a play on the ball.

A premier receiving option in an explosive offense, he has the ball skills to create splash plays as evidenced by his three pick-sixes last season. While the junior might also be a receiver, he is looking to hit someone on defense and is ultra-physical in run support.

In-state programs such as Tennessee and Vanderbilt identified his skillset early in the process, but he has been a well-kept secret outside of the state to this point. He seems to have taken another step forward this season and that means that he should not be a secret for long, with more Power Four interest coming his way soon.

This might be cheating a little bit as [player_tooltip player_id='1294979' first='Jarrell' last='Chandler'] already holds a handful of Power Four offers, but no list of breakout junior defensive backs can be made without including the Knoxville Halls product.

This season, he has grown into his frame with elite length and good athleticism that makes him a problem for with the growth in his coverage ability and ball skills so far this season. His length and versatility have always allowed for him to be a disruptive player that can be moved around the secondary, but he has begun to really grow into a playmaking safety prospect that also lines up in the slot, creating mismatches no matter the opponent.

His improved ball skills have been blatantly obvious with great catches as both a defensive back and receiver against solid competition. His added weight allows for him to really set the tone physically from the backend and be effective at every level of the field.

Yes, he already had Power Four offers heading into the season, but his electric start to the season should see the level of programs showing interest improve even more and solidifying himself as a target for the programs that offered him early in the process. He will be an exciting prospect to watch over the course of the season this fall.
