Matthews was definitely the heartbeat of the Linganore offense during their win. He gained yards after contact, displayed excellent vision, and gave out punishment to defenders trying to tackle him. I was impressed with his ability to press the hole inside and then bounce it outside. Matthews showed good patience and awareness. He scored two rushing touchdowns (3 and 18 yarders). He routinely turned small holes into highlight runs. Matthews' dominance on the ground allowed Linganore to dictate tempo, sustain long drives, and open up the passing lanes.

Allen was an X-factor from the beginning of the game. He helped give Lingamore immediate momentum by returning the opening kickoff for an 86-yard touchdown to give his team the first points of the game. He would also catch a 13-yard pass off a slant route for a touchdown in the second quarter. Defensively, Allen made his mark by batting down passes in the secondary and pressuring the quarterback as a pass rusher. His presence was felt in all three phases of the game.

Doy was calm, collected, and opportunistic. Even though Matthews dominated as a runner, Doy was a key contributor as well on offense. He balanced designed runs with timely passes. Even when pressured, Doy turned broken plays into gains. He threw two touchdown passes, a 13-yarder and a 22-yarder. Doy controlled the offense with poise. I like his mobility both in and out of the pocket.

Tarleton was a force for Linganore on the defensive line. Simply put, he was a defensive wrecking ball. Tarleton recorded multiple sacks, consistently pressured the quarterback, and made a few tackles for no or short gains. I thought his effort was relentless. There were a few times when he fought through double teams to make a play in the backfield. Tarelton was the anchor of a defense that pitched a shutout against Meade.

Allen was all over the field for Linganore as a versatile defender in both pass coverage and as a blitzer. He helped disrupt Meade's offense from multiple angles. Allen's ability to both pressure the quarterback and close down passing lanes made him one of the more valuable defenders for Lingamore. I thought he forced Meade's quarterback into a few incompletions as he came off the edge with pressure. It's worth noting that he also broke up a pass and made a tackle behind the line of scrimmage on a pass play.
