QB Spotlight: Tampa Signal-Callers

Florida has long been a hotbed of high school football talent. Annually, Florida produces some of the nation's top prospects. Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism. These prospects have made names for themselves and have caught the attention of coaches and scouts at the collegiate level. With the 2025 season getting closer, we're looking for players whose stock is rising in the state.   These players are all talented and have college-level abilities. Some of these players have a few offers, but all of them have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks for the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. Antonio Balaguer (c/o 2027) Position: Quarterback School: Sumner High Height/Weight: 6'1”, 190 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): 42-71 for 780 yards and 10 touchdowns. 21 carries for 93 yards   Evaluation: Balaguer has emerged as a productive young signal-caller with both arm talent and mobility. He has already accounted for 10 passing touchdowns while averaging over 18 yards per completion, showing confidence in pushing the ball downfield. At 6'1”, 190 lbs, he has the frame and athletic ability to continue developing as a dual-threat presence. His blend of efficiency, big-play capability, and poise under center gives him strong long-term upside in the 2027 class. With improved accuracy and consistency, Garrett has the potential to become a reliable and productive quarterback in the 2027 class.   Brayden Himelright (c/o 2027) Position: Quarterback School: Sickles High Height/Weight: 6'2”, 180 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): 53-101 for 566 yards and 2 touchdowns   Evaluation: Himelright has gained valuable early experience as a starter, attempting over 100 passes through just four weeks. He has shown flashes of rhythm and timing while operating within the offense, though improved efficiency will be key in his development. At 6'2”, 180 lbs, he has a projectable frame and the arm strength to continue growing into the position. His combination of size and early varsity reps make him an intriguing developmental quarterback with room to rise.
