My second game of Week 3 was heading out to Buell Stadium to watch the Millard North Mustangs host the Papillion-La Vista South Titans. The Titans were able to break the scoring spree open with a touchdown run by senior Jones, and from there, they never looked back, scoring 51 unanswered points. The Mustangs were able to get on the board late in the fourth quarter on a run by senior [player_tooltip player_id='1869978' first='Isaiah' last='Traylor']. Papillion-La Vista South won the game 51-7.

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='402147' first='Derek' last='Jones'] was the workhorse for the Titans' offense as he gashed the Millard North defense en route to a big performance. Derek carried the ball 23 times for 152 yards and two rushing touchdowns while averaging a healthy 6.6 yards per carry. When watching Derek run, I'm always impressed with his mix of power and athleticism. At 5'8" and 200 pounds, he has a strong, compact frame with a powerful base that allows him to keep his contact while battling through tackle attempts. He runs with a very low center of gravity and maintains great pad level, making it even harder to bring him down. Jones also showed his twitchiness in tight spaces as he's able to change direction and explode through opening run lanes quickly. Talented prep RB headed to Nebraska-Kearney after graduation!

[player_tooltip player_id='487566' first='Grant' last='Beckenhauer'], 2026 - QB/ATH - 6'2" 190 lbs - (@GrantBeck07)

Starting at QB for the Titans was senior [player_tooltip player_id='487566' first='Grant' last='Beckenhauer'], who maximized his throwing reps with a near-perfect performance. Beckenhauer completed four of his six pass attempts for 97 yards and two passing touchdowns. The part of Grant's game that stands out the most is his athleticism, especially the use of his legs to extend plays and execute rollouts from the pocket. He delivers an accurate, catchable ball and displays good placement with his passes, including a few throws over the middle of the field that were right on the money. Beckenhauer is an interesting prospect who could also find college opportunities on the defensive side of the ball, with five tackles from the safety position. Senior stock-riser through the first half of the season!

[player_tooltip player_id='1296778' first='Colin' last='Raybourn'], 2027 - QB - 6'3" 195 lbs - (@raybourn_colin)

The Titans implemented a plan to split QB reps between Beckenhauer and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1296778' first='Colin' last='Raybourn'], and it looked like neither passer could do wrong this day. Colin had a few more pass reps in which he completed six of nine attempts for 173 passing yards and three touchdowns. Raybourn looked poised leading the offense and showed he can stand in the pocket and deliver or throw on the run when extending plays outside of structure. I was impressed with his willingness to take off with the ball, gaining a couple of first downs on the ground. Good placement and timing with his passes. Raybourn's arm talent is going to be interesting to continue watching develop as he already displayed the ability to effectively throw to all levels of the field, attack the middle of the field, or make difficult sideline throws. With next-level measurables at 6'3", 195 pounds, I wouldn't be surprised to see some coaches start to keep tabs on the junior passer!

Senior receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1905334' first='Brady' last='Alderson'] had himself a breakout game as he connected with both QBs for two long second-half touchdowns. Brady ended the night with three receptions for 151 yards and two receiving touchdowns. The impressive part of Brady's touchdowns was what he was able to do after the catch. On both TDs, Alderson was able to house short/intermediate passes, then turn upfield and explode with breakaway speed. This was my first look at Brady, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else this dynamic receiver can do in his senior year.

Here's a youngster who I think we'll be hearing more about in the upcoming seasons. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1591349' first='Chase' last='Gable'] already looks the part of a next-level prospect with 6'3, 170-pound measurables and room to continue filling out his frame. Gable plays safety for the Titans, but I can see him as a versatile chess piece with the athleticism to be a deep safety, slide out to nickel, or play near the LOS as a linebacker/S hybrid. He does a great job attacking the ball from wherever he is and can close on the ball carrier effectively. Great tackler for the position, with a few impressive open-field tackles that prevented big gains. Impressive sophomore with high upside!
