The Dow Chargers are 2-1 after three weeks of play. Yesterday, they came into Mt. Pleasant and simply got outscored. It was a rough game on defense, but an amazing day for the pass game. Here's my quick evals for five Dow players that I had my eye on.

Where do I start?

Well, Wynn outperformed expectations. I thought Wynn would do well, but I did not expect Wynn to be so efficient and have such a massive passing volume. I had to have seen 30+ pass attempts from Wynn.

Wynn reminds me a lot of Cason Carswell from Mason. Play style is very similar.

Wynn looked incredibly comfortable all night. Didn't matter if there was pressure, didn't matter if he was on the run- Wynn was calm, and did not allow any pressure to impact his throws. I only saw a few inaccurate passes, and those passes were inaccurate by a matter of inches, not feet. I very rarely see a QB look so unfazed. I can name several QBs over the years who had phenomenal 7on7 seasons who go on to look like a completely different (worse) player on Friday Nights. Wynn doesn't skip a beat. It's also notable that there were several drops from the Dow offense- so Wynn's official statline will not paint the full picture.

Like Cason, Wynn's mechanics and footwork can look a bit out of the ordinary. Normally, I'd nitpick. Though it obviously works very well for Wynn. As long as a QB is consistently accurate, I care little about nitpicking mechanics/footwork.

Lastly, I watched Wynn on the sidelines quite a bit. Again, he's super even-keeled. Someone who leads by example. Constantly talking to his coaches and his star offensive tackle. There was a little bit of frustration aimed at his defense in the second half, but the frustration was more motivating than condescending.

After next week, I will have seen the vast majority of the Top 10 QBs in Wynn's class. Next rankings update, Wynn should move up.

A promising Junior linebacker. One play really impressed me. Early in the game, down at the 1 yard line, Jameson reacted quickly, perfectly plugged the rushing lane, and prevented a TD. In a situation where he needed to react decisively, Jameson did his job. At other times, Jameson was a bit slower to react. Here and there, he would flash with a great decision and tackle. I feel that Jameson will improve tremendously if he just improves his play speed.

Additionally, Jameson is a solid weapon on offense. Able to showcase his athletic ability on the offensive side of the ball.

He'll probably be on the rankings watch list next update!

Dow's starting left tackle, opposite of [player_tooltip player_id='1148728' first='Zander' last='Halliwill'].

Ryan looks the part, and plays the part. I watched Ryan during nearly the entire first quarter, and he played great. Pass blocking, he's got the basics down. Hands up, solid balance, and great bend. I also liked Ryan's all-around run blocking. Good footwork, and always played to the whistle.

I really like Ryan's mentality. He's a good left tackle, and has a goot shot at being a college prospect next offseason.

I honestly should have watched [player_tooltip player_id='1682845' first='Jay' last='Stevens'] on the field a lot more. I saw him involved in a number of tackles. From what I saw, Jay was one of Dow's most productive and consistnet defenders.

What stood out to me the most was his leadership. Zero quit in this guy. When Dow was down 7-0, Jay was rallying the troops and encouraging the team to fight. Then, when Dow was down by three scores, Jay was doing the same exact thing. Extremely positive, great leader, and an amazing player to have on your sidelines.

Steady as they come. At this point in Zander's high school career, he's seen it all.

Zander did a good job protecting his QB. He's a polished pass blocker and handled everything that Mt. Pleasant threw at him. I also like how close Zander is with his QB- a lot of trust and communication there.

Still uncommitted. I'm looking forward to seeing where Zander ends up playing his college ball.
