There are two things you can count on from a Brooks Barta-coached team. It consists of tough-nosed ball players and a team that will run the ball nine out of ten times.

Imagine my surprise when the Wildcats threw the ball on the first offensive snap of the game Friday night against Riley County.

Here is a look at four athletes who caught my eye in Holton's Week Two home game against the Falcons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115789' first='Cael' last='Frazier'], LB, 6'2”, 215, Holton, ‘26

Fraizer started on both sides of the ball for the Wildcats and continues to show that he has the skills to be a college recruit. Fraizer is ranked No. 190 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He is Holton's workhorse back, although multiple backs get carries. He runs well downhill and will work for the tough inside yards. He is a steady linebacker, where his speed also factors into his game. He has solid instincts for what the opposition is doing on both sides of the ball. He made a couple of solid open-field tackles in the contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1311569' first='Korban' last='Wilson'], RB, 6'0”, 180, Holton, ‘26

Wilson is another athlete who can play either side of the ball. He is ranked No. 299 in the Class of 2026. He is most productive when he can get the ball outside of the tackles. He has breakaway speed on offense and excellent closing speed on defense.

Landon Hernandez, TE/DB, 6'3”, 175, Holton, ‘26

Hernandez plays safety for the Wildcats but has the size to be a hybrid linebacker. He made two touchdown-saving tackles in the first half for Holton. He is tall, which comes in handy when he needs to play centerfield for the Wildcat defense. He moves well for his size and is not afraid to bring the wood to a ball carrier.

[player_tooltip player_id='1528043' first='Grant' last='Warner'], DL/TE, 6'3”, 215, Holton, ‘28

The surprise of the night was Holton's sophomore tight end and defensive end. He made the reception on Holton's first snap of the game. He is a big target and moves well for his size. I don't see Barta ever changing his offensive scheme wholesale, so Warner might not get a ton of targets in his career, but he has the hands to make the most of them. He is also a long and quick defensive end. I really like his skills on the defensive side of the ball. He can rush the passer or keep runners from getting to the outside. He is ranked No. 133 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.
