Four Under-the-Radar Players Behind Winton Woods’ Hot Start

Winton Woods is off to a hot 3-1 start before heading into Friday night's game against Walnut Hills. With wins over Springfield (21-14), Milford (38-17), and Turpin (13-6) and with their only loss being a narrow two-pointer to Kings, the Warriors look primed for a deep postseason run.

Here are four under-the-radar players who are carrying their season forward.

Christopher Mims - OL - 2026

Mimms is a very good run blocker with a quick first step and effectively runs his feet on contact, paving the way for Winton Woods in the run game. Mimms has good hand timing, placement and latch, and uses his sheer strength to ragdoll defenders to the ground. He holds offers from Wheeling, Central State, Fairmont State and Ohio Dominican.

Julian Eichert - OL - 2026

Julian Eichart is very good at combo-blocking and working to the 2nd level to create running lanes. The 6-foot-2, 315-pound guard is a good puller who can find a moving target, activate his hips and drive defenders off the ball. Effective blocker in space too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1356007' first='Ka'ronn' last='Daugherty'] - CB - 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='1356007' first='Ka'ronn' last='Daugherty'] is an impressive corner prospect who plays with great use of hands and isn't afraid of getting feisty with receivers in coverage. What's most impressive is that Daugherty is a physical hitter who can elude blockers, step up and bust up screens. Displays high effort in chasing down ballcarriers in space.

Josai Hill - S - 2026

Josai Hill is a really good safety prospect who can cover and carry deep fades, but he is also an outstanding open-field tackler. Hill looks like dynamite on special teams, quickly going downfield, taking great angles and wrapping up returners in space.
