Most schools in Virginia have played at least two games so far and the play on the field has been outstanding. I have said it before and I will say it again, Virginia High School football is the most slept on state in America. So much talent across the board and the 2025 season is off to a roaring start.

Colonial Forge may be the best team but look for Woodbridge

I saw first hand what the Colonial Forge Eagles were all about when they pulled away from Patriot last Friday night. The Eagles have bona fide stars all over the field and rarely error in any phase of the game. While Taysean Jones and [player_tooltip player_id='1593988' first='Jaylen' last='Carter'] have made their college commitments already, highly regarded prospects [player_tooltip player_id='1645084' first='Jeremiah' last='Wise'], [player_tooltip player_id='853812' first='Brock' last='Brimhall'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1297628' first='Torie' last='Martin'] have yet to do so. All three are division 2 or higher prospects in my opinion and hopefully they start getting the recognition they deserve. Turning our attention to Woodbridge, the Vikings have maybe the most explosive offense in the DMV. [player_tooltip player_id='853949' first='Caleb' last='Tucker'] is on fire to start the year at quarterback, and the additions of [player_tooltip player_id='1426550' first='Vinnie' last='Hill'] and James Taylor have worked out very well. These two squad seemed destined for a classic matchup come playoff time.

Will traditional powers Fairfax/South County and Madison get back on track?

All three schools have been playoff bound and serious title contenders for the past decade. Now they have 1 combined win and their schedules do them absolutely no favors. South County and Madison in their loss to Lake Braddock seem to have found their identity on offense, not quite for the Fairfax Lions yet. The Stallions have one of the best receivers in Virginia with [player_tooltip player_id='1297724' first='Trevion' last='Campbell'], so no matter who is at quarterback you can always rely on Campbell.

Colgan has a chance at school history

Under new Head Coach Loren White, the Colgan Sharks are rolling and should be 3-0 as they should easily handle Unity Reed. I know Coach White is not thinking about playoffs yet, but the way his Sharks are trending, I would bet on it. For the past three years Colgan quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1282106' first='George' last='Hall III'] has been in command and he looks even more accurate in his senior season. The Musselman twins are a pain to match up against and [player_tooltip player_id='1297900' first='Yadon' last='Davis'] is providing a nice spark too.
