The first defensive back on that I am surprised doesn't have their first offer yet is [player_tooltip player_id='825411' first='Henry' last='Telechan'] of Rapid City Stevens. Henry is one that plays with a chip on his shoulder as he carries one of the biggest motors within this uncommitted lists of defensive backs. Along with that motor, Henry is also one of the most rangy safeties left on this 2026 list as very consistently he gets from sideline to sideline. He has well-versed footwork to play in pass coverage and can play on an island when you need him to with a wide receiver. The 6'2 185 pounder also possesses more game speed than what you might see in a 40-yard dash. The three year starter certainly deservings more attention.

It's hard for an evaluator to miss on watching Zakariya's vision he has at his disposal and that points with versatility in stopping the run and in pass coverage for the Cavaliers strong safety. Not only does he possess the ideal vision to play at the next-level I don't feel Zak gets enough credit for his instincts when he penetrates downhill especially slowing down the ball carrier. Every time he comes around the ball in pass coverage, you hope to see what great timing he uses at teh point of attack as a strong safety that is a hard-hitter for his 6'0 175 pound size. Just one offer this summer surprises me as I feel Zakariya could pop off in these first three games of his senior season.

Another Cavalier that cracks our UTR 2026 list for defensive backs is [player_tooltip player_id='848931' first='Cael' last='Nofziger'] as another under recruited athlete in this 2026 class. You can't miss on this young man's football IQ at all and it doesn't matter if its stopping the run or in pass coverage, Cael is affluent in both areas. His impact in the running game is the most intriguing to me as Cael goes in with each opportunity with fitting pursuit angles when arriving downhill to the ball carrier. He might be undersized at 5'9 180 pounds but you can't miss that this kid plays with the chip on his shoulder to excel at the next-level.

Younger is off to a great start in his senior season for the Wall Eagles, as the now 6'1 200 pounder made a strong impact in Week 1 against Philip. He already appears to be more disruptive than he was a year ago. It started off with a cracking tackle for a loss in the backfield and it gets even more amped from there against the Scotties offense. He showed off the physicality that is there taking on route-runners as his superior strength tossed receivers off their route like clock work. He certainly appears to be more rangy and playing with a bigger motor thus far as one of the top DBs still available in the Dakotas, but has defensive position flexibility as well to linebacker.
