With the departure of [player_tooltip player_id='1221942' first='Beau' last='Burns'] and BGM to Class A, [player_tooltip player_id='1242285' first='Keagan' last='Lee'] of Easton Valley is the top returning passer in 8-Man football this fall. Completing 145-of-222 passes for 2,115 yards and 29 touchdowns to just seven interceptions, Lee is one of the more efficient passers in the state.

The First-Team All-District gunslinger is slight of frame, but can whip the ball downfield to his receivers. With an unorthodox, long throwing motion, Lee may take a bit longer to get the ball out and to his pass-catchers, but he trusts them to go make a play on the ball if they're in one-on-one coverage.

The quarterback for the No. 1 receiver in the class of 2027, [player_tooltip player_id='1197458' first='Landon' last='Blum'], [player_tooltip player_id='1242266' first='Brody' last='Pryor'] completed 114-of-199 passes for 1,635 yards and 29 touchdowns to eight picks in 2024.

Pryor, also presumably related to former UNI tight end, Layne Pryor, benefits big time from having the Power 4 recruit as a pass-catcher, as Blum snagged 40 catches for 802 yards and 18 touchdown last fall, accounting for 35% of his completions, nearly half his passing yards and over half of his passing touchdowns. Both part of the Class 1A state champion spring medley crew, as well as state qualifiers in basketball, Woodbine has a solid group of multi-sport athletes that are looking to make a push to the UNI-Dome this fall.

A do-it-all type player for Fremont-Mills last fall, [player_tooltip player_id='1358997' first='Sawyer' last='Forney'] passed for 1,412 yards and 25 touchdowns to just five picks in 2024. He also took 53 carries for 209 yards and a score.

He actually intercepted more passes on defense last year than he threw offensively, making it clear as to why he's listed as an athlete on Prep Redzone. Posting six interceptions, including a pick-six, to go with his 34 tackles on defense, Forney was one of the more pivotal two-way players for the Knights and their 7-3 season.

Er, three-way players. Forney returned 16 punts for 316 yards, eight punts for 88 yards and booted away 16 punts for 521 yards last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1242284' first='Brady' last='Boulton'] returns to lead the Montezuma offense for the third year in a row this fall after putting together a 1,000-yard passing and rushing season for the Braves in 2024. Under center, he passed for 1,367 yards and 18 touchdowns in addition to taking 132 carries for 1,104 yards and 17 scores on the ground.

A standout on the basketball court too, Boulton averaged 28.2 points, 4.8 assists, 4.4 steals and 4.1 rebounds per game for Montezuma last season on the hardwood.

A Class A transplant as Kingsley-Pierson moved down to 8-Man this fall, Landon Howe completed 98 passes for 1,316 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024 for the Panthers.

Looking to improve his efficiency this fall -- and hopefully with more space to do so, competing with three fewer players on the field -- Howe completed just under 50% of his passes and KP finished 4-4. If he can take his game to the next level, the Panthers will have a shot at eclipsing .500 in 2025 after moving down classes. With his 6'4", and 215-pound frame, Howe should be one of the more physically imposing QBs in 8-Man ball.
