PSR Big Camp Series, New Jersey: Running Backs, Volume IV

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday, May 10th, 2025 I was welcomed back for the third year in a row to cover&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/ScoutNickP">Coach Nick Pennisi</a>‘s&nbsp;<em>PSR Big Camp Series</em>&nbsp;hosted at Monroe High School in Monroe, New Jersey. As I have come to expect, this event was packed with participation, loaded with talent, and ran extremely well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Different than other events, Pennisi opted to have three different check-in times, based on position groupings. This afforded me the opportunity to get a closer look at many of the prospects in attendance. Below are just some of my notes on the position group mentioned in this article's title.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Be sure to follow me on&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/BrendanScoutsNJ"><strong>Twitter</strong></a>&nbsp;for the latest updates in New Jersey high school football.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This culminating feature on running backs has a strong South Jersey influence, starting off with [player_tooltip player_id='1697622' first='Keon' last='Monsegue Parker']. Out of Atlantic County Tech, I started my afternoon with an asterisk near Monsegue Parker's name, as I was curious to see how effectively he can move; and as the event wore on, all my concerns were addressed. To his credit, Monsegue Parker has a low center of gravity that makes him hard to tackle. Additionally, he showed that he made hard cuts... [player_tooltip player_id='829436' first='Aiden' last='Dawkins'] looks to have a clear path ahead of him as the Millville Thunderbolt's top option out of the backfield. Dawkins does many of the more nuanced things well at running back, like pushing off of the instep of his plant foot when cutting. I thought he had the 'Bolt's signature burst that the majority of their skills posses. If I were a linebacker, it might be an intimidating sight to behold when Dawkins comes at you. As a pass-catcher out of the backfield, I was impressed with one grab he made through tight coverage, in a small window, while withstanding heavy contact... A bit more north but yet still considered South Jersey, [player_tooltip player_id='1547074' first='August' last='Cassidy'] out of Nottingham was a bigger-bodied back. At 6'1" 205, this rising junior has plenty of room to continue to develop his game. I thought that when running routes he could stand to sink his hips a bit more on sharp-breakers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two out-of-state prospects wrap up today, the first being Moore Catholic's Roman Siniscalchi. Siniscalchi was a sharp cutter and quick mover. A Texas route I saw him spring loose on best exemplifies this; however, the senior-to-be must convert on those impressive routes and haul in the ball... One of the more impressive backs came from Malvern Prep in Pennsylvania - 2028 graduate Julius Riddick. Riddick is built like a brick house, stout at 5'9" 200lbs. Aside from looking good, Riddick moved really well, especially for someone who just finished up his freshman year. The rising sophomore also used a great fake to cross the face of a linebacker when running his route across the middle. Lastly, Riddick was simply too strong, breaking weak holds, overcoming pass interference, and creating mismatches all over.
