Prep Redzone AL's 2025 Preseason All-State Team: EDGE Picks

We've made it to August! With the season quickly approaching, it's time for us to give our preseason All-State selections!   Today, we're focusing on some of the most dominant EDGE prospects across the state!   You won't want to miss out on this group of talent. Be sure to check out their film below. Now, here are our preseason selections:   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">7A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='646290' first='Cam' last='Pritchett'] is one of the nation's top 2027 EDGE prospects and has another huge season in the 7A coming up this fall.   “Pritchett is quick off the snap and immediately generates tons of penetration into the backfield- he's excellent at stopping the run and generates tons of pressures/sacks as a pass rusher. Pritchett is a hard prospect to slow down in the trenches- he dominates opposing OL with his power and speed and consistently makes or assists his teammates in making game-changing plays.“   Pritchett was unstoppable last season, ending the year with 78 total tackles (43 solo, 15 for loss), 6.5 sacks, 6 hurries, and one FF.    A few days back, Pritchett announced his commitment to Oregon! Everyone should be on the lookout for him this fall, he's a dominant defender with a huge season ahead.   Make sure you watch some of Pritchett's film below, he's a talented prospect with a huge year ahead:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='676572' first='Anthony' last='Jones'] is an explosive EDGE out of Saint Paul's Episcopal who's dominated the 6A for several seasons now.   “Jones is a highly athletic EDGE who plays with a ton of speed and aggression down by the line of scrimmage. Jones can do everything his coaches ask of him- he's a terrific pass rusher, can set the edge, attack the run, and is always around the ball making plays.   Jones plays with unreal effort- he doesn't give up on plays, is great in pursuit, and consistently finds ways to disrupt offenses throughout all four quarters as a pass rusher and run defender. It's going to be really exciting watching him in his senior year this fall; he's a special talent.“   Last week, Jones announced he'd committed to Oregon! I'm excited to watch Jones this fall and at the next level, he's a talented defender with a bright future ahead.   Check out some of Jones' film below, you'll come away impressed.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1189059' first='Jabarrius' last='Garror'] is an unstoppable EDGE out of Vigor who's set up for a huge junior season in the 5A this fall.   “Garror is extremely athletic coming off the edge- he has an explosive first step, quick/aggressive hands, and plays with an elite combination of size, speed, and pursuit that makes him a game-wrecker every down. It doesn't matter what opposing offenses attempt to run; Garror has the natural ability to quickly diagnose and blow up plays.   Garror is a special pass rusher. He completely wrecks the line of scrimmage every snap and flies into the backfield to generate tons of pressure and sacks. “   Garror committed to Alabama last year and has continued to pick up big-time offers from programs like West Virginia, Nebraska, Texas, and many more in the last few weeks.   Check out some of Garror's tape below, he's a talented prospect with a huge season ahead:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1649065' first='Jaiden' last='McDonald'] is a dominant EDGE out of Jackson who's ready for another big year in the 4A this fall.   McDonald is incredibly versatile off the edge and is an every-down playmaker for this Jackson defense. Against the run, McDonald is an aggressive force who does a great job fighting off blockers to get to the ball carrier, coming up with multiple stops behind the line of scrimmage or for little gain.   McDonald brings the same impact on passing downs- he's a productive pass rusher who constantly pressures/takes down quarterbacks, leading to bad decisions with the ball and huge stops behind the line.   McDonald had a productive junior season, ending the year with 87 total tackles (8 for loss) 12 QB hurries, and 4 sacks.   Watch out for McDonald this fall, and in the meantime, check out some of his film below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1466430' first='Billy' last='Neill'] is a dominant piece of Bayside's defense who's made his name known around the 3A over the last few seasons.   "Neill is a versatile linebacker who is capable of making huge plays against the run and pass. Neill is quick off the snap, great at fighting off blocks, and is a constant threat to offenses upfront. He has excellent pursuit skills, closing speed, and vision he uses to easily locate the ball and make plays on the ball no matter where he lines up."   Neill ended last year with 208 total tackles (125 solo, 8 for loss), 3 hurries, and 4 sacks.   Everyone should have Neill and this Bayside defense on their radar this fall. They've got a ton of talent and are sure to put together a great season this fall:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1309193' first='Khamari' last='Young'] is a talented defender out of Greene County who's ready for another big season in the 2A this fall.   "Young is a physical force in the trenches who defends the run at a high level. He's quick off the snap, has violent/active hands, and can work around blockers to get to the ball carrier nearly every snap.   Young is really talented in pursuit. He has great closing speed, is a reliable tackler, and can work from the opposite side of the line of scrimmage to create stops. On top of his run defense, Young is an effective pass rusher who can generate pressure and rack up sacks at ease."   Last fall, Young tacked up 109 total tackles, 2 sacks, 4 PBUs, and one INT on the year.   Make sure you watch out for Young this fall; he's a talented player with a big season ahead. Check out some of his film below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1349523' first='Jaquez' last='Wilkes'] is one of the nation's top EDGE prospects and has another dominant season in store at Wadley this fall.   “At 6'4 220, Wilkes is highly athletic and plays with a ton of speed and physicality wherever he's lined up. At EDGE, Wilkes is a tackling machine. He has great instincts, is quick to react, and can easily fight off blocks to get to the ball carrier and create stops behind the line of scrimmage.   At RB, Wilkes is incredibly hard to stop. At his size, he has a ton of speed and great contact balance he uses to shed off tacklers and maximize every carry.“   Wilkes lists offers from schools like Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and many more. It'll be exciting seeing where he ends up; Wilkes is a national recruit with a bright future ahead.   Check out some of Wilkes' flim below, you'll come away impressed.
