Pre-Season Preview: Must Know Bay Area Sleepers

From his receiver position, he runs precise routes, is a smooth operator that can break quickly, pluck the ball out of the air and shows late hands while also having a big catch radius and can win on 50/50 balls downfield. Off the ball, he shows a good initial burst, can get off press coverage and is a high IQ route runner that is a complete player for his age and one of the better weapons across the Bay Area. He shows a quick trigger, can navigate quickly through traffic to get into the backfield and takes the proper angles in space when working backside. He shows he can apply pressure off the edge or up the middle and is a natural pass rusher with some good bend/use of hands. Fife also flashes the ability to make plays outside the tackles, showing closing speed and quick redirect abilities while seemingly always around the ball. He has a massive frame at 6'6", heavy hands and the ideal size for the guard position at the FBS level. In the run game, he can create immediate vertical push, is a true puncher with finish and moves well for his size while able to snap out of his stance and finish with nasty intentions. He shows good hand violence at the POA when pulling across the LOS/kicking out and is a long strider that can chunk yards downfield and is very effective in the red-zone. Defensively, he is a twitchy and quick rusher off the edge with good bend and does a nice job using his length to keep blockers away from his chest and can win on primary and counter moves. He has tremendous interior length, long arms and good sudden twitch for the inside while able to reset the line and win with both speed and power. He shows he can hold the point without giving up ground, eat up double teams/drive blocks and also has some good interior twitch and a variety of moves in his toolbox.
