When veteran head coach Andy Johnson led his Orlando Boone Braves into the final regular season game of the season at Winter Park, it was a matchup that meant everything.

With the district title and a state playoff spot on the line in that Nov. 7th meeting, the Braves would come up short, dropping a 35-28 decision, ending a season that was certainly up and down.

The year was frustrating because 18 points separated this team from winning eight times, and that was something that drove this team in the off-season.

As 2025 begins, the objective is to win the district title – and while every game is important that Oct.10 home game against Winter Park could once again be the game that produces a district champion.

2026 – [player_tooltip player_id='1626605' first='Will' last='Buzyniski'], DE, 6'1, 230 – 3.2 GPA. A prospect that took the off-season serious with several camps and combines, including the Prep Redzone Prospects Combine, which was held at his home school. Finished his junior season with a team high six quarterback sacks while making key plays for a defense that was one of the best in the county. He was first team All Metro.

2026 – Sam Johnson, QB, 6'3, 210 – 3.5 GPA. When you happen to be the son of a coach and have been around the game all your life, it is an advantage. But here is a quality prospect who had an amazing junior season with 2,100 yards and 31 touchdowns. Enjoyed a productive off-season, which included an appearance at the Prep Redzone Florida event at Boone High School.
