North Coast Section: QB1 Top Returning Passing Leaders

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Several top passers are back after big-time performances last year, and they're poised to lead high-powered offenses once again. Here's a look at the top returning passing leaders in the NCS.</h2>    Casanovas returns as the section's leading passer after throwing for 2,780 yards and 38 touchdowns while completing 71% and only throwing three interceptions in the 2024 season. Also added 967 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. Has led Saint Vincent to back to back state titles and is expected to compete for another one this year. High level ability both as a passer and runner, he has shown great command of the position is one of the top uncommitted signal callers in northern California.      Lemke had a massive statistical season in 2024 throwing for 2,761 yards and 35 touchdowns while racking up 1,826 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground. A true dual-threat, he combines sharp decision making and arm talent with plus athleticism and open field speed. He's dangerous in space, poised in the pocket, and consistently makes big plays through the air and on the move. Lemke's ability to take over games with both his arm and legs makes him one of the most dynamic QB's in the section.      Winkles impressed in his first year as Acalanes starter, throwing for 2,639 yards and 35 touchdowns while leading the team to a NorCal final appearance. A polished passer with sharp accuracy and timing, he displays smooth footwork, a quick release, and excellent ball placement. Can mix up speeds to throw with touch or can drive the ball into tight windows with velocity. A functional athlete, he moves well enough to escape pressure, extend plays, and make throws on the run. Expect to see big statistical numbers again for the junior in Acalanes pass heavy offense.      Blair delivered a strong 2024 season with 2,595 passing yards and 23 touchdowns. Technically sound and mechanically sharp, he's well trained with advanced footwork, a consistent release, and strong command of the position. His timing, accuracy, and ability to throw in rhythm stand out. Great poise and shows the ability to maneuver in the pocket to avoid pressure and create second chance throwing lanes. Flying under the recruiting radar, he's a sleeper prospect with the tools to thrive at the college level.      Prak turned in a standout 2024 season with 2,575 yards and 35 touchdowns, showcasing natural arm talent and poise. He stands tall in the pocket, remains calm under pressure, and deliver with a live arm that can stretch the field. His confidence and composure allow him to operate efficiently, while his smooth arm action gives him to ability to make tight window throws at all levels. Generates strong velocity with good rotation in his hips and shoulders. One to watch entering his senior year.
