And just like that, the chaotic roadtrip of a nine week cyclone that is the Summer Camp SZN - the busiest and most important segment of the offseason - is in the rearview. The 2025 Summer Camp SZN was one to remember, with Minnesota natives heading to camps all around the country and putting in thousands of miles under the tires in search of serious scholarship money and roster opportunities from the P4 to the DIII and NAIA levels. Additionally, between fellow PRZ scout [player_tooltip player_id='1292716' first='Nate' last='Wahl'] and I, PrepRedzone attended 29 total camps, 22 different individual college camps, across North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, with the full breakdown of each scout's roadtrips below. It's more than fair to say that PrepRedzone is by far the most comprehensive source for the summer camp season in the Upper Midwest, and we're here to finally share the biggest winners from Minnesota's 2025 Summer Camp SZN. No more introduction needed! Dig in.

Notes: Prior Lake has been pumping out stud defensive linemen at an impressive rate during the 2020s, and their stud 2026 DT Skyler Werner kept the scholarship tradition alive and well during the 2025 Summer Camp SZN. Coming into the dog days of summer without an offer, Werner was putting in serious work behind the scenes, joining the 1,000 lb. club in February and is up to 1,160 after a 485 lb. squat and 325 lb. power clean in late July, and that hard work and power really hit pay dirt at the second North Dakota State prospect camp of the summer. After a strong showing during testing, drill work, and 1v1 padded competition, Werner earned offers from Minot State, MSU-Mankato, and Minnesota-Duluth, with the University of Jamestown and Bemidji State offering up in the following couple of days. Werner also camped in Sioux Falls at Augustana, earning the offer from the Vikings following the camp, and crosstown rival Sioux Falls called Werner the following day with more money. Werner had a quiet yet productive 2024 junior season, tallying 43 tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 FFs in 10 starts, all while eating double teams and plugging gaps for his teammates in the middle of the LOS. Be weary of this Prior Lake defense going into 2025, the Lakers are LOADED!

Notes: One of PrepRedzoneMN's favorite 2026 prospects, regardless of position, Kingsland's dynamo of a three-phase playmaker [player_tooltip player_id='402074' first='Kaaleem' last='Reiland'] is going into his fifth (!) year as a starter for 9Man contender Kingsland and is poised to make this season his best yet. A seasoned PrepRedzoneMN Showcase top performer, the tape and in-person evaluations did a great job of highlighting his dynamic athleticism and twitch, but the big factor as to whether the 9Man standout could break into scholarship territory was the top end speed. Well, Reiland did an excellent job of improving his explosiveness and pace, and his 2025 Summer Camp SZN showings proved that fact, as he ran 2-3 tenths of a second better than when I had last clocked him. NSIC stronghold Minnesota-Duluth liked what they saw on the summer camp circuit, offering the 9Man lethal weapon in mid-June, and a couple of weeks later the stat-monster from Spring Valley shut things down and committed to the Bulldogs. PRzMN loves the fit, to say the least. Reiland is an easy kid to work for with an incredibly decorated prep resume with the Knights. I wouldn't bet against Kingsland, and Reiland for that fact, having a massive 2025 season.

Notes: Although the rising junior from Rosemount didn't receive an offer during the 2025 Summer Camp SZN, we at PrepRedzoneMN think that the 6'3, 170ish lber. did a good enough job on the summer camp circuit to solidify himself as the #1 contender for the Rosemount QB1 job. Returning QB [player_tooltip player_id='592121' first='Cade' last='Sherman'] is currently committed to Augustana's new hockey team and is playing with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the vaunted USHL, so I'm not sure where he stands on playing football this fall. Either way, Sherman would have his hands full fending off rising junior Brookins, who had a fantastic showing at the first North Dakota Fighting Hawks flagship camp of the summer, as well as a couple other stops on the summer circuit. Brookins was a clear top performer amongst the QB group at the Fighting Hawks camp, showing the ability to not only stretch the field vertically, but distribute the pigskin to all levels of the field with timing, accuracy, and consistency. It was hard not to notice him putting the ball on the money during 1v1s, with some especially impressive reps displaying his ball placement ability, and with a tall, commanding presence in the pocket, it looks like the young man had what it takes to successfully lead a Class 6A contender. PRzMN will be eagerly awaiting news from the Irish QB room!

Notes: Sometimes, all it takes is one camp! Minneapolis North Polars stud two-way contributor Quantayvious Roberts showed up to the UW-River Falls 1,200+ strong Minnesconsin Mega Camp ready to ball, and after a three-phase standout performance, including an especially impressive 1v1 showing, walked out of River Falls with some scholarship money. NSIC heavyweight and perennial contender MSU-Mankato, who have a real-deal track record evaluating defensive backs, offered Roberts a DII scholly, and after a visit to UW-Eau Claire over the border, Roberts also earned a WIAC roster spot. Went 4.66 in the 40, 9'1 in the broad, and 31" in the vert, and his 1v1 showing highlighted his man-coverage ability on the perimeter, as his length, top-end speed, and change of direction ability helped him maintain phase successfully against a variety of different wideouts. Should be a big year Roberts and his Polar cohorts, and if you're still in need of a defensive back in the 2026 cycle, hit my man up!

As I take credit for finds, I must also take responsibility for misses, and boy did I miss on Beckstrand. Not sure how he doesn't have a handful of DII offers right now, but it's going to be a massive year for the Bombers impressive athlete on both sides of the ball and whoever lands this young man is going to get an absolute stud. Beckstrand was he one of the most physically impressive RBs I saw on the 2025 Summer Camp SZN circuit, both in his twitch and body control during indy and positional work, but he was also one of the best verified athletes. At the first North Dakota Fighting Hawks Flagship Camp of the summer, Beckstrand went 4.56 and 4.57 in the 40, 31" in the triple broad, and 4.5 and 4.53 in the shuttle, popping off one of the best, as well as quietest, testing performances of the camp, as well as from every RB I saw on the Summer Camp SZN circuit. In 1v1 competition against LBs, both in run defense and route running, Beckstrand was one of the top dogs and performers, using that elite shake, natural elusiveness, and dynamic ability in space to break ankles, create separation, and overall, win 1v1 reps. St. Scholastica made an EXCELLENT early eval, something Beckstrand should remember, but this kid is far too talented to be this quiet on the recruiting trail right now. Get at him.

Notes: Bit of a different take on a successful Summer Camp SZN here, but it's hard to argue against the fact that Waseca's two-sport star rose his stock as a gridiron prospect the past couple of months. While most on this featured list earned their stripes at college football prospect camps, Russell was finding fame on the AAU camp circuit, a different kind of Summer Camp SZN that is all the same in terms of chaos and business. Already a well-established hooper who holds down a Top-10 rank on NorthstarHoops, our sister basketball site, Russell has now firmly established himself in a long line of Land of 10,000 Lakes-made hooper/football dynamos with D1 ability on both the gridiron and hardcourt. Russell has been putting up outrageous stat-lines in front of GOATED Minnesota hoops scout Ryan James, but it's his dunks that have really been setting the social media landscape on fire. That first dunk came against a 6'9 defender, and with the legacy of hoopers that Minnesota has been producing as of late, as well as the statistical evidence proving the positive correlations of multi-sport success to post-secondary football success, I'd start getting very excited if I was an NDSU fan.

The Bulldogs landed a couple big-time Summer Camp SZN standouts the past couple months out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes, both of which were at the height and peak of their recruiting momentum and camp performances, and I'm never going to complain about anyone's defensive back room adding more Minnesotans. Eagan's [player_tooltip player_id='1533764' first='Grady' last='Recer'] was a no-doubt Summer Camp SZN standout who, along with a 4.6 40 and 9'1 broad at NDSU, tore it up during 1v1s at a few Missouri Valley and Northern Sun camp stops, showing up a competitive and athletic man-coverage skillset that earned him some scholarship money on the camp trail. The Big Dogs at UMD pulled the trigger and offered on July 21st, and 10 days later Recer was a Bulldog. Match made in heaven!

Notes: One of my favorite new finds from the 2025 Summer Camp SZN, Rogers was home to a very much under-the-radar defensive back who also happens to be one of the best athletes in the state's 2026 class. Ridlehoover, who has represented Team Minnesota at the 2025 Super Senior Games in Kansas City, as well as with Blizzard Elite Baseball at the WWBA National Championship, is one of the better baseball players in the state, and boy can this kid play some football. The multi-sport athleticism really showed up well during the testing portion of a couple Summer Camp SZN stops in 2025. At the Minnesota Gophers second camp of the summer, the Rogers Royals' SAF went 4.56 x2 40, 4.38 shuttle x2, and 9'11 in the broad jump, and he added a 4.44 40, 4.44 shuttle, and 31" vert at the Northern State prospect camp for good measure. A real-deal athlete, Ridlehoover also tore it up during 1v1s at the Gopher camp I attended, showing off some loose hips, an effective ability to speed turn, and one of the fastest play styles I saw all summer, not to mention some excellent twitch, to solidify himself as a top performer during 1v1s against some star-studded competition, and out of the slot no less. With a great athletic profile and some scholarship $ potential already within his grasp, I think this kid could in a for a massive season in Rogers' inaugural season in Class 6A. Did someone say "ballhawk?"

However, no one recruits Minnesota better than the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and Bemidji State found the needle in the haystack during June's summer camp circuit. Bemidji State, who has really been recruiting their homestate well this cycle, caught wind of Vonbank's physical and technical growth, offering a DII scholly in mid-June, and UW-Eau Claire and their new D1-worthy facilities offered a WIAC roster spot shortly after. Sadly, we didn't get to see Elmquist compete in Kato, but I just saw him with his Crimson teammates in Bemidji for the 2025 Bemidji State War on the Shore Big School Team Camp, and Elmquist looked dynamic, as well as comfortable and aggressive, in the Crimson's defensive backfield, and made an impact in both run and pass defense. Should be a big season for the sticky rising senior heading to the 507.

Notes: One of the best - as well as biggest - new finds from the 2025 Summer Camp SZN, Crookston's going to go back-to-back with NSIC signees, as TE Tate Hamre has exploded onto the recruiting scene thanks to the summer camp circuit. With now-verified size hovering around 6'4, 225, Hamre blew the testing portion out of the water at a couple of stops during the Summer Camp SZN, showing off great athleticism for his size, and Hamre also proved he had some juice as a pass-catcher and route runner during 1v1s. I am ITCHING to get some updated tape on Hamre and his Crookston cohorts in 2025.

Notes: Duluth once again doing what Bulldogs do, and that's sniffing out talent (food). As it goes with QB recruiting, spots fill up quickly, and the majority of Minnesota's 2026 gunslingers had closed up shop and committed by the time August rolled around. However, the Bulldogs called up St. Francis' under-the-radar signal-caller [player_tooltip player_id='1593562' first='Tanner' last='Rothbauer'], who competed up in Duluth at their prospect camp in early June, where he showed off a big arm that can both stretch the field and put ample velocity on his throws to the first and second level of the field, great footwork that helped him play with mobility and throw on the move and off-platform, and the fact that he was an athlete who can hurt defenses with his legs. Yet another excellent in-state find by the perennial NSIC big dawg.

Notes: Only a rising sophomore, Eden Prairie's Erlandson proved that he was a big-time name to know in the 2028 class this summer, so much so that he may have a chance to play P4 football someday soon. PrepRedzoneMN got to see Erlandson at both the Minnesota Gophers RTB Prospect Camp and the Bemidji State Prospect Camp, the latter of which came in late July, and Erlandson showed that he was more than able to compete - and win, even dominate - against seasoned upperclassmen competition, both in board drill and pass rush settings. Long, athletic, and physical, Erlandson popped off a 4.6 shuttle and 8'11 broad jump at the Beavers camp, and with the menacing amount of room to fill in, not to mention the competition and work ethic he'll test his guns against at powerhouse EP, and we got a recipe for the Next Great Eagles DL.

Additionally, between fellow PRZ scout
