The recruiting clock is all over the place these days. With so much roster movement within college programs, high schoolers are forced to be patient at times. No need to panic if you're still on the board with your senior season beginning. There's still opportunity to impress scouts that will end up with openings on the next level.

Here's a group of guys that can raise their stock during the 2025 campaign:

In what was a tough 2024 season for the Bobcats, Smitherman put together a solid all-around performance. The junior rushed for 188 yards, caught five balls for 149 and three touchdowns, had 2.0 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery, and averaged 21.8 yards on 12 kick returns. Smitherman flashes the potential to help a college program in multiple areas, as he shows during his 11th-grade highlight video. He could fit on either side of the ball and certainly add value on special teams. A good athlete, Smitherman has the size and instincts to make plays with the ball in his hands. That said, his skill set could shine most at safety or slot corner.

Richardson Williams reports impressive testing numbers on his Hudl page. It's a 41-inch vertical, a 4.4 40-yard dash, 285 on bench and a 425 squat at 6-2, 180. Video highlights are limited on Hudl. There's an open-field tackle on a Valley running back and a bump-and-run play at the line resulting in a pass breakup. It leaves the scout wanting to see more, which hopefully we will this season. Those testing numbers with that height and length at cornerback is intriguing. They helped Richardson Williams come up with 21.5 tackles (17 solo).

One of the top senior basketball players in the state, White also offers significant potential as a recruit on the gridiron. Of his 11.0 tackles last season, the safety delivered eight solo stops, speaking to his ability in run support. White also intercepted a pass and averaged 32.4 yards on eight kick returns with a 90-yard touchdown against Valley. We can witness that big-play ability when we pop on his junior highlight video. White shows good instincts as a safety, diagnosing plays and flowing well to the football, finishing with physicality. He changes directions and runs well enough to hold up cover. White can be special on special teams.

Davis played an important role on the interior of the Rams' defensive front in 2024, when they won their fourth 5A state championship in a row. He produced 15.0 tackles, 12 of which were of the solo variety. Davis also was credited with a pair of stops for loss and a sack. His power comes through during his junior highlight video. Getting off of the snap quickly, Davis bursts into his opponent with good leverage and leg drive. He absorbs blocks with his head up and eyes on the target, showing a knack for disengaging at the right time to make a play. Davis has a chance to raise his stock with another step forward in 2025.

The Titans reached the UNI-Dome once again in 2024 with Buthe helping them hold up well on defense. Twelve of his 16.0 tackles were of the solo variety. He added a tackle and a half for loss and recovered a fumble. During his junior highlight video, Buthe displays a versatile skill set on the second level. It's one that would work in a safety/hybrid capacity at the next level. Buthe plays fast and physical with sound tackling technique and lateral quickness. He gets downhill quickly and diagnoses plays well.

Walling contributed 15.5 tackles, 13 of which were solo, as a junior in 2024. He also showed a lot of potential as an interior offensive lineman during his 11th-grade highlight video. His versatility is aided by his athleticism and agility. With a frame that can comfortably add mass and strength, Walling has a long way to go before reaching his potential. He moves very well and regularly gains leverage on his opponent. His feet are smooth, allowing him to set up effectively in pass protection. Walling is one to watch in 2025.
