Harding at East Mecklenburg: Offensive Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Harding Rams defeated the East Mecklenburg Eagles 22-6 this past Friday Night in a non-conference matchup of two schools in the city of Charlotte. There were several offensive standouts from the game. Harding went to an old school wishbone offense and pounded the rock with Jamarcus and several other running backs. Jamarcus scored two touchdowns in the second half with a powerful running style where he consistently ran through and dragged tacklers for additional yardage and first downs. I could have chosen any of the big guys up front, but going back and looking through highlights, I thought Knowledge consistently got an impressive push off the ball and made holes for the interior running game. On Jacob's touchdown run, a short dive play, it was clear he wasn't going to be stopped and ran with nice power and purpose. Offensively, James had a couple of big catches to keep drives alive over the middle of the field. James also played some wildcat quarterback where he scored a touchdown and picked up a first down to keep a drive alive. James nearly had a 2nd touchdown out of the wildcat, but a holding penalty negated that effort. Specifically, there was a wide counter play the Eagles had success with on multiple occassions, and Tremelle was able to get into open space on that play and use his speed and vision to pick up a couple of first downs on the ground for the Eagles. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
