Five SV North Breakout Candidates

The final five SV North prospect evaluations before the season kicks off!    Luka's got an awesome freshman highlight tape!   Great flashes. The highlight at 0:42 showcases an incredible one-handed catch. Next play, Luka climbs the ladder and snags a 50/50 ball. Plus, I like his straight-line speed quite a bit. Luka also comes with positional versatility- could play RB, but I like him most as an outside receiver. There is a little inconsistency in his game. Sometimes, Luka relies on his body to catch the football rather than his hands. Plus, I'd like to see better detal in his route running.   Hoping to see improvements in Luka's game. I'm expecting him to eventually be a high-end Varsity player.      I like what I'm seeing from these young Traverse City West players. Sawyer is yet another promising underclassman.   Sawyer's best stuff comes after the catch. His first highlight demonstrates solid contact balance. Fast-forward to 0:33, Sawyer continues to show his ability to break low-effort tackles. Finally, 1:04 showcases Sawyer's speed on the jet sweep. All-around great stuff in the open field, and excellent effort with the ball in his hands.   Fine-tune the small details, add some muscle, and we could have ourselves an awesome Varsity receiver.      Olson made a handful of great plays against some of the best JV teams in Michigan.   At the base level, Olson has good mechanics and is able to consistently drive the ball downfield with solid accuracy and throw power. Additionally, there are a couple of instances of great pocket presence, oftentimes evading pressure and scrambling for good yardage.   I'm looking forward to seeing what Henry has in store for this season. I expect last season's tape to translate incredibly well to the Varsity level.      Corle is a people mover. Fast first step, good leverage, and flat-out knows how to block. Base blocks, Corle is firing off, getting low, and driving. He's also far above average when it comes to reach blocking- doesn't always get perfect footwork and hand placement, but the effort usually makes up for inconsistencies in technique.   Plus, there's some good pass-blocking clips. Crole gets low, and does an excellent job of laying into his defender. He leans a little too much, but still, effort usually makes up for the occasional poor technique.      A multi-positional player who should take another leap this season.   Offensively, McGinnis was utilized as a speed-in-space player. Taking outside runs/sweeps, McGinnis does a solid job of running into open space. The play at 0:37 is a good instance of hitting the edge, outrunning a defender, and earning good yardage.   Overall, McGinnis needs to go the extra mile. On a lot of these plays, McGinnis leaves a lot on the plate. Whether it's hitting the wrong hole or running out of bounds early, there are a lot of instances where McGinnis could earn a ton of extra yards.
