Prospect rankings always expand heavily during sophomore and junior years as prospects continue to develop and emerge at different rates.

Prep Redzone Louisiana released its latest 2028 rankings this past week, a list that doubled in size with dozens of new additions heading into sophomore year.

Previous articles highlighted 12 debuts in the top 30 spots of the list, but the promising new faces continue well further into the rankings.

Here's a look at another eight high-ranking debuts on the latest edition — some of whom may well warrant higher spots in the next update, but who have limited available evaluation time, film or information thus far.

No. 31 — [player_tooltip player_id='1804141' first='Max' last='Jones'] — 6-5, 280 OL — Catholic (Baton Rouge)

The Bears' program has steadily produced FBS offensive linemen, and the big sophomore has the potential to be the next in line. Jones is still early in his development and only has limited film available thus far, but possesses great size for the next level — listed in some places now as tall as 6-foot-7 — and a strong base he keeps driving through his blocks.

No. 32 — [player_tooltip player_id='1804136' first='Jazavion' last='Briggs'] — 6-2, 180 DB/ATH — Abbeville

The long, physical safety and potentially versatile athlete is one of the first round of players in the class reporting early offers. There's limited footage available of Briggs this early on that primarily shows his willingness as a tackler. But he'll be a player we're looking more closely at this fall for a clearer picture.

No. 34 — [player_tooltip player_id='1804143' first='Christian' last='Martin'] — 5-10, 160 DB — St. Paul's

and No. 35 — [player_tooltip player_id='1804146' first='Rodrick' last='Payne Jr.'] — 5-11, 170 DB — St. Paul's

Big [player_tooltip player_id='1619260' first='Andrew' last='Shofstahl'] debuted among the top offensive linemen in this round of rankings updates, and that's just the beginning of some strong representation for the Wolves' wave of young talent on the rise. The duo of Martin and Payne both earn high rankings heading into sophomore season as two of the top few defensive backs on the list. Both are instinctive, competitive young players who should have the ability to show some positional versatility. Martin possesses top-end speed he was showcasing this offseason quickly shutting down passing windows with his great range on the back end, while Payne is a bit taller and longer of an athlete and was not shy playing physically as he worked more at corner.

No. 36 — [player_tooltip player_id='1851136' first='Tavion' last='Gallien'] — 6-2, 175 WR — Acadiana

The younger brother of senior receiver Travis is still early in his development, but his long, lean frame and athleticism make him another interesting prospect to watch as Louisiana's 2028 class of wide receivers continues to look increasingly loaded.

No 41 [player_tooltip player_id='1619283' first='Thomas' last='Carter III'] — 5-10, 190 RB — Loreauville

The Tigers' ball-carrier is among the state's top young running backs emerging early in the class. Carter appears to be a thickly built athlete and has some early film on which he flashes good speed in the open field and the ability to bounce outside for big gains up the sideline. And he notched solid athletic testing numbers this summer on the college camp circuit.

No. 42 — [player_tooltip player_id='1848581' first='Aidan' last='Adams'] — 6-2, 190 LB/QB — Ruston

The Bearcats' young backup quarterback is a big, physical athlete with junior-high film excelling in all three phases and some limited early footage from this fall in which his athleticism and speed appear to still be standing out at the higher level of competition.
