8 District 3 Players Set to Shine This Season

I had the pleasure of watching him work out at our Prep Redzone Showcase, and I came away impressed with him as a prospect. He does a good job of getting in and out of breaks and creating separation from defensive backs. He also catches the ball well in traffic between defenders. Abrams has the talent to have a monster season this year for Hempfield. He does a good job of playing in space. On two plays, I saw him drop into his zone and intercept passes. He does a great job of reading the eyes of the quarterback and making plays against pass plays off offenses. He also did a good job of rushing off the edge and making plays against the offense. He also runs sideline-to-sideline chasing plays all over the field. He can score anytime he touches, as he scored on 2 kickoff returns and 6 receiving touchdowns. His ability to make defenders miss in space is excellent. He is also a good defender, as he can make plays as a defensive back in coverage. He is also a good tackler, especially in the open field. Hegener could be the starting quarterback for Lancaster Catholic this year, or he could play as a wide receiver. He rushed for 2,051 yards and 23 touchdowns. Small is an outstanding running back who always has his legs churning. He rarely ever gets tackled by arm tackles from defenders as he breaks through defenders' arms. He also has legitimate speed, and once he gets into the open field, he is off to the end zone. He is also a good linebacker, as he made numerous plays all over the field. As a wide receiver, his ability to catch the ball in traffic between defenders is excellent. His body control is good, as he can catch the ball in difficult spots. As a defensive back, he does a good job of flying around the field and making plays against opposing offenses. He is especially good at making tackles in the open field. I was impressed with his ability to throw the ball. He is like a machine in the pocket, as he reads the defense well and throws an excellent pass. His mechanics and footwork are excellent. He also has a good arm and puts the perfect amount of touch on the ball. Esbenshade did an excellent job last year, but I expect he will play even better this season. In the 2nd year of a starting quarterback, the game slows down, and they usually play even better. At both positions, he shows explosive athleticism. As a running back, he shows an explosive ability to score anytime he touches the ball. He was particularly good on sweeps where Camp Hill tossed him the ball and hit the hole well. He shows good speed by running for long touchdowns on sweeps. As a wide receiver, he catches the ball well and makes defenders miss in space. He also showed a good ability to run routes and catch the ball between defenders. His ability to read and react to the play and come upfield is excellent. He makes a ton of tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. He does a great job of reading the play and always seems to make the right read against opposing offenses. He is also an excellent tackler, who tackles well, and offensive players usually go backwards. Kocher's instincts are excellent, as he constantly makes plays against offenses at a high level.
