2026 IDL New Additions

We're in the middle of an August Rankings Update built more on additions than movement. Accordingly, we've got a lot of new players to look at. We hit all the offensive players earlier this week, so now we're looking at the defense. Here, we're breaking down a few of the 12 new interior defensive linemen to our rankings.

Let's take a look at some 2026 IDL new additions.

2026 IDL New Additions

I blame only myself for not getting ahead of Latiker's explosion onto the recruiting scene. His physical upside is truly special, given his height, weight, and speed. That's why he's seen the likes of Charlotte and Georgia step in with offers. He doesn't have a ton of on-field production, and his position is a bit up in the air in terms of whether he'll play inside or on the edge, but the upside is enormous. Let's see what happens after a transfer to Seventy-First.

Edwards' flashes are elite. He has moments of outright dominance as a run defender and has some truly special pass-rushing reps as well. He's a guy with good quickness for his size and a strong first step. When he's in the zone, he's really tough to block and he can take over a game.

Bean hasn't yet flashed much as a pass-rusher, but that should come in time, given his athletic profile. He's a strong interior defender who can kick out to end and stop the run from there as well. His versatility helps Union Pines be multiple on defense and we think he could have a strong senior season.

You've probably seen Clavin's name several times on the website, as his recent offers have been featured in our weekly recruiting updates. However, we've never given him a true evaluation. Despite his leaner build, Clavin plays 3-technique and even nose tackle, excelling against the run. He has the lateral quickness to blow up off-tackle runs, and he's disciplined as a run defender. The pass rush will come and we think he could have some decent college upside.

Oriol is a fantastic pass rusher and a guy I feel like I was late on, only recognizing his talent after looking at Panther Creek for our RDU deep dive series. He's adept at getting after the quarterback with speed or power and can play both inside and outside. He's one of the top returning pass rushers in the area and a guy we really like a lot, as evidenced by his high debut slot.

Davis is a huge presence on the inside, a guy who takes on double teams and clogs up the middle as effectively as anyone in the state. He's a true nose tackle prospect in a time where most interior defensive linemen fit better as 3-techniques or guys who shade further outside and if you need a guy to stop the run, Davis is your guy.

Other 2026 IDL New Additions

[player_tooltip player_id='1717077' first='Keyan'tae' last='Lattimore'], R-S Central

[player_tooltip player_id='1696643' first='Jonathan' last='Ortega'], Chapel Hill

[player_tooltip player_id='1698686' first='Kye' last='Boyd'], Harnett Central

[player_tooltip player_id='1717044' first='Korieonta' last='Williams'], Eastern Wayne

[player_tooltip player_id='1717283' first='Kamarion' last='McBryde'], Red Springs
