It was very much so a tale of two seasons for Head Coach Bill Tracy's squad last fall. After starting the season 5-0 and clinching the Big Central Conference American Gold Division title by going 3-0 against divisional foes before the start of October, the Falcons then lost their next 5 games - including three to fellow non-public competition. With a clean slate in 2025, a few key returning starters, and a few more incoming transfers, expect the Falcons to improve upon this record and extend their season further than they did last fall.

The majority of Bester's tape is on JV where we see him take quarterback snaps, play corner, and serve as a wing back. I like how Bester ran his track and was able to gain and conquer the edge on jet sweeps. Against lesser opponents he has shown shifty hips, while defensively he high points the ball and uses his hands to catch it. On the JV level, likely due do the speed of the linemen, he has to slow down his track when running trap or belly some. An immediate area Bester can work on his holding the ball tight to his body when toting the rock.

[player_tooltip player_id='1198281' first='Tom' last='Kwiatkowski'] is a solid and savvy interior defensive lineman who shows flashes of excellence at moments. We see that he can execute the hump move to shed over-extended defenders and is used well in line stunts. Should Kwiatkowski not get home to the quarterback, he knows to match the his hand. As a tackler, his feet buzz through contact. On the topic of his feet, Kwiatkowski is quick when slanting and pursues with reckless abandon. As a pass rusher Kwiatkowski would benefit from working through a half man; and his pad level can be lower so he does not get displaced when galloped by offensive linemen.

Perhaps the most shiny jewel of the Falcon's offseason was the transfer of former Bergen Catholic standout [player_tooltip player_id='402201' first='CJ' last='Edwards']. Edwards has an elite get off that only equally as elite offensive tackles can manage to stay in front of. This get off, combined with his motor, pursuit, and constant hand fighting, makes him an Tasmanian Devil-like pass rusher. Much to my delight, Edwards largely refrains from taking the inside rush unless it is absolutely wide open. In his 2 minute highlight tape there was tons of great footage pass rush-wise, yet very clips of him stuffing the run. I would like to see more; however, in the few clips he did include I would like to see him squeeze down harder when unblocked.

Joining Edwards as an import to St. Joseph Metuchen this fall is [player_tooltip player_id='205678' first='Michael' last='Wellet, III']. Wellet is a linebacker with the versatility to play all over a defensive front. As a blitzer, Wellet times the snap well, and if he cannot get home he matches the quarterbacks hand. Moreover, Wellet is the type of prospect that is schematically sound and will never be out of position. He bails to his drops as quickly as he can and plays down hill due to his ability to read his keys. Wellet would benefit from using his hands to shed and take on blockers, while lowering his pad level when tackling.
