Westlake should be considered one of high school football's versions of QBU. And Wise, the recent Ole Miss commit, is continuing that trend. A smooth operator with fluid release and great touch on deep balls, Wise is a stud in the pocket. He also displays accuracy on throws outside the pocket and under pressure. Additionally, Wise has sneaky speed and can break off long runs and even run through defenders. These dual-threat attributes allowed Rees to account for over 3,000 total yards and nearly 40 total touchdowns in 2024. The first team all-state signal caller should be in store for a monster senior year, where he will strive to lead the Chaps to a state title and prep for his next chapter in Oxford.

Dailey is a tall, athletic gunslinger with a lot of uniqueness to his talent. He excels at using his long and strong arm to drive the ball down the field with extra zip. Dailey also demonstrates good scrambling ability and an array of arm angles he uses to launch the ball downfield while avoiding pressure. While consistent in the pocket, much of Corey's junior year production came rolling out of the pocket, throwing off his back foot with great touch outside the numbers. He was able to lead the Matador offense with over 2,500 passing yards and 41 total touchdowns in 2024. Expect the recent Pitt commit to take another step forward and continue throughout his senior campaign.

A true Swiss army knife offensive captain, Montgomery accounted for nearly 1,000 total yards in 2024 and 9 touchdowns in 2024. While not necessarily nuclear at first glance, those statistics were split nearly even between passing, rushing, and receiving the football. This speaks to Montgomery's athleticism and ability to scramble out of the pocket and break off runs with good speed. He also shows a good bit of physicality lined up at receiver. But don't get it twisted, Montgomery is a great signal-caller who showcases a quick release and great accuracy. Whether Montgomery continues his contribution all over the field or slides into a consistent QB role, there is no question that he is capable of either, and that he should be in store for a massive senior campaign. Mason recently picked up an offer from Southeastern and will add to these offers with a successful season.

Evans is a high motor, true gunslinger who can also break off a physical run at times. The Lexington launcher excels at stepping up in the pocket in the face of pressure and delivering strikes over the middle of the field. Evans fires the ball with excellent velocity and consistently hits his receivers in stride. He also has a great general feel for the game and great pocket awareness. His ability to go through his progressions and find passing lanes with a calm demeanor is evident on film. The district's offensive MVP produced nearly 3,300 total yards and 39 total touchdowns last season. With a pledged commitment to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, expect Evans to chase the record books and prepare for the next level in 2025.

With a massive frame, Steyn has a ton of arm strength and excels at driving the ball downfield and into windows where only his receivers can catch it. With smooth mechanics and an effortless flick of the ball, "Buck" glides throughout the pocket, completing passes with a multitude of arm angles. While maybe not the fastest QB in the nation, Steyn does a great job at sifting outside the pocket, allowing time for passing lanes to open up. The Rattlers' signal-caller still has some rawness to his game, but I expect him to come out polished and electric this season, which should lead to a major jump in his recruitment.
