I saw him shine at our Prep Redzone Showcase, where he earned the MVP for the defensive line group. McGuire has a good combination of strength and athleticism. He shows his strength by his ability to rip through offensive linemen trying to block him. McGuire also has a motor that never stops. In the last month, he has picked up 2 offers, one from Gettysburg and one from Ithaca. He does a good job of playing in space as a defender. His ability to read and react to the play and make the proper play recognition is impressive. He is especially good in the passing game, where he drops in coverage well and takes away passing lanes from quarterbacks trying to throw the ball. He also shows good ball skills, and if the ball is thrown in his direction, he is good at knocking down passes. He is also good as a run stopper by coming upfield and making tackles in the open field. As a tight end, he is a dynamic blocker. He does a good job of blocking on the edge and controlling defenders. He also shows glimpses of being a good pass catcher in limited opportunities. As a defensive end, he is excellent at keeping contain. He uses his hands well and knows how to rip through offensive tackles trying to block him. His ability to block edge defenders at a high level is impressive. He has a great combination of size (6'3') and athleticism. He does a good job of blocking in the open field. On different screen passes or on an outside zone play, LaMolinare does an excellent job of leading out front and blocking. He is also a mauler in the run game as he dominates defensive linemen. He is also a good player at pass blocking by moving his feet to stay in front of edge defenders. The 1st thing that stands out from his film is his quickness and burst. His ability to make defenders miss is impressive. He was used in a variety of roles last year. He played at times as a wing-back, and he goes into motion and takes handoffs. He was also used as a traditional running back as well as lining up as a wildcat quarterback and taking direct snaps. At all phases of running back, he excelled at running with the ball. His ability to read the play and then come upfield to make tackles against the offense is impressive. He is a good tackler who seems to excel at making tackles in the open field. His ability to read the play and then scream upfield from his safety position is one of the best parts of his game. He is also good as a pass defender and has great athleticism chasing passing plays thrown over the top. Sabatos recently picked up an offer from Miami University in Ohio. His ability to make defenders miss in space is special. He catches the ball well and has good moves to make defenders miss. He also runs excellent routes. I love how twice he faked like he was going to block on a wide receiver screen pass, then went up the sideline and caught two big plays. The other part of his game I like is how he goes and blocks. Bergia is a mauler in the run game. He just destroyed defenders in the run game by firing off the ball and dominating them on the line of scrimmage. For having a big frame, Bergia is good at moving. He can pull and block in front of screens well. He also shows good pass-blocking skills by moving his feet and staying in front of defenders. Purcell is a leverage monster. As he is able to just leverage to get under the pads of the defensive lineman. He also has a good stance and fires off the ball well. Because of the great pad level and his strength, he is able to drive defenders off the ball. He is nasty in the run game by driving defenders off the ball in combo blocks. He has great size (6'4") and shows good athleticism. He also shows the ability to run good routes and catch the ball well.
