Not a huge factor on either side of the ball last season for the Trojans, [player_tooltip player_id='1617649' first='Neil' last='James'] will be relied on both as a corner and as a wide receiver this fall for West. He made two difficult catches across the middle in 11-on-11 work at the end of practice, one reaching far behind him and hauling in a difficult catch for a first down.

Defensively, James will be expected to start at the opposite corner of AJ Hodge, and, chances are, his side of the field will be attacked over and over again. If James can lock down his assignment, the West defense could be lethal in 2025.

Similar to what was said about teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1238635' first='Ethan' last='Headings'] earlier this week, one can tell that senior LB/RB [player_tooltip player_id='1699746' first='Campbell' last='Janis'] is ready for football season. Anxious to put the pads on and hit somebody, Janis may be one of the more overlooked weapons for the Trojan offense and defense this coming season.

Impactful as a junior, Janis has the opportunity to reach the next level and shoot up the rankings this fall after taking 51 carries for 261 yards and two touchdowns offensively, while adding 35 tackles and an interception on defense. Janis isn't an overwhelming physical presence on the football field, but he's not afraid to hit, and he can make would-be tacklers miss in space by shedding them off or breaking their ankles.

One of the two guys in the quarterback competition as West looks to replace four-year starter Jack Wallace, [player_tooltip player_id='1692076' first='Mikey' last='Moody'] is set to make an impact one way or another for the Trojans this fall. More of a mobile athlete that can make some plays with his legs, Moody isn't a precision passer, but he can extend plays get the first down with his legs if need be.

Also a bigger body that could play on the defensive side of the ball or serve as a decoy in a trick play, Moody's presence on the field will help West out offensively.

A prospect with a chance to reach the next level, Cade Towler is another player for the Trojans that is expected to make an impact on both sides of the ball. Regarded as "an awesome free safety" by head coach Garrett Hartwig, Towler won't be at the top of opposing team's scouting reports, but they'll know his name this season. A rangy DB that will find the ball and can catch a slant or make a play on a bubble screen, Towler is ready to help his team this fall.

Another junior in the quarterback competition, Wheeler throws a tight ball and led several drives for touchdowns in the 11-on-11 portion of practice this week. More of a precision passer that can make the short and intermediate throws to carve up a defense, Wheeler is in a good spot to lead the Trojan offense this fall, if given the opportunity.

Still working on the intricacies and timing involved in the position, Wheeler still needs to work on when to tuck the ball and run, when to get ride of it to avoid a sack and his downfield passing, but as he gets a better grasp of what the position entails, he can trust weapons like Janis, Headings, [player_tooltip player_id='1238512' first='Julian' last='Manson'] and others to make plays with the ball in their hands.
