Only a handful of Friday reports remain this off-season as we come zooming down the football super highway heading for the official start to pre-season practice.

There is already a heavy dose of padded camps and practices going on in parts of the state, as well as busting chops in fully-loaded scrimmages as we transition from off-season training to the real stuff.

And, there are still a few remaining camps to attend before the pre-season kicks into gear if you still have some left in the tank.

In this report we are taking a look at five players who all took differing approaches to their off-season training. Included below are three rising star ballers from the class of '27 and and a pair of seniors-to-be who are locked in on having a big final season.

So, without further adieu, let's take a look at what these guys have going on heading into this fall:

[player_tooltip player_id='557340' first='Warrick' last='VanBlaricon'] , 6'4, 285, OL, Salina Central, '27. He is coming off a year interrupted by injury but has more than made up for lost time this off-season attacking his training and getting his name out. With prototype size, reach and quick feet, he is a smart, versatile offensive lineman who can play anywhere along the front. This fall he will transition to left guard where he and 4-star OT [player_tooltip player_id='401683' first='Kaden' last='Snyder'] will form a steamrolling, powerhouse combo on their side of the ball. He was busy on the camp circuit early in the summer and has continued working strength and quickness with Kegan Schumann, Revive Performance, as well as the mechanics and nuances of the new position with Coach Chesney. With significant D1 interest already and a strong off-season expect this guy to be one of the best in the state this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1474404' first='Julion' last='Daniels'] , 6'1, 225, RB/DE, Santa Fe Trail, '26. He is coming off a solid season as a ball-buster defensive end and a powerful running back on offense. With his RB size and speed he tramples would-be tacklers in the open field or when defenses try and stack the box. On defense he storms the gate off the edge, shutting down the perimeter on his side and making life miserable for the QB. With physicality, aggressive play and strong read and react skills he can cave in the run game in the middle or cut off speedy backs trying to hit the corner. He has been busy in the off-season working with Coach Jeddy on d-line play and will be putting the finishing touches on his overall training this weekend at Peru State, before wrapping up at McPherson later this month. This guy is a sleeper who is going dominate this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115789' first='Cael' last='Frazier'] , LB, 6'2”, 215, Holton, '26. After a standout junior season as a two-way running back and linebacker, he didn't waste anytime in the off-season getting ready for a big senior year. Last fall he was just getting warmed up and showed glimpses of greatness along the way rushing for just under 500 yards at 5.7 yards per carry, while piling up 94 tackles and picking off a pass. He had a dominating wrestling season and has gone to both football and wrestling camps this summer getting ready. On offense he is a pounding runner who blows through arm tackles and on defense has the instincts and closing speed to shut down the run game and deliver sledgehammer hits on arrival. With training on-going and visits coming up to Benedictine, Washburn and Grandview among others he is getting ready to put on a show this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='944973' first='Preston' last='D'Albini'], 6'3, 215, TE/DE, Hillsboro, '27. Following a position change over the off-season that also coincided with significant growth, he has been laser-focused in his off-season training and picking up the nuances of the new positions. Having grown several inches and bulking up to 225 pounds for the season he is primed and ready to dominate at TE on offense and attacking the perimeter off the edge on defense. He plays the game with physicality and is aggressive from snap to whistle tracking the ball. He did not hit any of the camps or combines in the area this summer, choosing to stay focused with his teammates locally. And, his work ethic has been on display this off-season, as he has consistently been working on his game, whether it is in the weight room or on the field. This guy has been flying under the radar but will change all that this fall.

Jaxson Green, 5'9, 165, RB, Andover Central, '27. After patiently working behind the scenes as a back-up running back to an all-state back on last year's state championship team, he has been going full throttle this off-season getting ready for his opportunity. As an explosive all-purpose RB, he doesn't waste any time with the ball in hand, using his great burst hitting the hole or when burning up the edge. He is a slashing runner with lateral speed and elusiveness that makes him a lethal weapon in the AC arsenal. His off-season has been heavy on plyometrics, speed/agility emphasis and working on mechanics and footwork. He also hit camps at Kansas State and Pitt State to help accelerate his summer training and had an earlier visit to KSU as well. This guy has been waiting in the wings and fans are looking forward to seeing him go scorched earth on the opposition this fall.

In conclusion, get out and see these guys in action this fall – you will not be disappointed.

And, as usual…

Keep grindin'
