Throughout the summer, we will be looking at the 2026, 2027, 2028 NY recruiting classes. While stats show numbers, film shows the entire story. For this series we will be looking at 25 players in each position throughout the next three cycles. In this edition of QB Film Study we will breakdown three Quarterbacks hailing from Section One and Two QB's from Section Two.

Lanese is one of my favorite prospects from Section One. The 6'4" 185 pound signal caller had a solid build for the QB Position. The Pearl River star is coming off an impressive Junior Season where he was named to the First Team All County in Rockland County.

Lanese is an excellent improviser who excels outside the pocket and creating plays. His vision is outstanding and he can see the entire field. Accuracy and Arm strength are both solid traits he uses to pair with vision and Improvising. He is impossible to tackle and in his film you see multiple defenders bounce off him.

Lanese is a solid prospect who exploded this previous season. If he continues this trend this year, he can easily be among the top QB's in Section One.

Standing at 6'2" 185 Pounds, Lawrence displays a solid build for the QB position. In six games starting he tossed 14 touchdowns and over 1,400 yards.

Lawrence has solid vision and his eyes scan the field on every play. He has solid mechanics and footwork and has a nice three-step drop back. He can throw the ball to all three levels of the field and does so with solid accuracy. He feels pressure well and uses his legs to escape and create plays down the field.

A solid prospect with limited playing time. Lawrence should receive a full year of starting snaps giving us a better grasp on his tape.

Standing at 6'5" 180 pounds, Dillon has a solid frame for the QB position. The Brewster signal caller can look to gain 5-10 pounds of good weight to improve his frame.

Dillon has a solid arm paired with good accuracy. He sees the field well and has an adequate IQ. He has good ball placement on contested throws and feels pressure well. He can use his legs to escape pressure and create plays down the field but is better as a passer.

Dillon is one of the more intriguing QB's in Section One. He enters his third year with Brewster after transferring to the team prior to 2023. I look forward to seeing him this fall.

Standing at 5'11" 175 pounds, Callanan has a solid frame for the QB position. The two sport athlete is a dual-threat QB and is part of the Stillwater basketball team.

Film is limited on Callanan; however, he is a solid prospect who displays solid traits. He throws a solid ball and has a smooth release. Accuracy on his throws are visible on tape. He has solid speed and uses his legs well, racking in over 120 carries and around 700 yards in his Junior Season.

Turnovers are an issue for Callanan, but he has the traits he needs to succeed at the QB position and with less turnovers can find himself higher on our rankings.

Standing at 5'10" 160 pounds, Carkner has an undersized frame for the QB position. The Ravena/Coeymans/Selkirk QB may look to add 10-15 pounds of good weight to improve his frame for the position.

Carkner plays both QB and SS but projects as a QB. Watching his tape against Schalmont, He has a solid IQ and a can read a defense. His strong suits are RPO/Option games as he benefits in using his legs and creating plays on the run.

Carkner is a solid QB out of Section 2 who is dynamic and has skills needed to succeed as a QB.
