Arkansas Top Edge Prospects Heading Into 2025

<p>With the season right around the corner, we take a look at the top edge rushers in the Natural State. Most, if not all, of these prospects will be playing on Saturdays in 2026. He utilizes his length and athletic ability to be effective off the EDGE. Nelson plays sideline-to-sideline, showcasing his relentless motor to chase down ball carriers. Sanderson displays good football IQ. He effectively sets the edge to force plays back into traffic. He also splits double teams to make a play at the LOS or in the backfield. He is a solid speed rusher, characterized by his solid foot quickness and upfield burst, enabling him to consistently beat the offensive tackle around the arc and apply pressure on the quarterback. He effectively applies pressure in the pocket by utilizing his lower body strength and hand placement to drive with a bull rush. Wooten demonstrates solid foot quickness. He maintains a low pad level at the snap. This allows him to position himself to extend and lift the offensive linemen. Meanwhile, he reads and reacts to the football. His pad level and awareness let him make plays at the LOS or in the backfield. This generates pressure on the quarterback or allows him to make plays against the run at the LOS. He's a high-motor prospect who plays with relentless effort, consistently chasing down ball carriers from sideline to sideline.
