Although I got a late start to Brookings, I still was able to catch a good chunk of 1v1s in the first session at the 6/20 SDSU Prospect Camp. These were the names that quickly caught my attention in the skill session.

My time watching the quarterbacks in this session was light, but the 2026 quarterback that caught my attention in Brooings was Eli Abramson from Parker Lutheran in Colorado. He showed off what looked like some of the most balanced poise in the group I watched as the bulk of his skillsets I watched across the board had plenty of balance in Eli's favor. He showed off the balanced touch needed on all three levels with his throws and showed off a fluid and quick release in his reps and most of the throws I watched fit right where they were destined to be. One that surprises me doesn't have offer one come in yet.

A defensive back prospect out of Ipswich that grew on me further from his spring eval at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showase is Ipswich 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1574473' first='Shay' last='Knust']. He has gotten more polished with utilizing his footwork as I could gauge Shay is getting more instinctive and the game is slightly slowing down for him in the reps I watched. Not one I can find on Twitter, yet but one that should be a riser in this upcoming 2028 class update in South Dakota.

By far the most impressive new name we got on our radar quickly in the 2028 class, was linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1695513' first='Cooper' last='Allen'] from MN powerhouse, Caledonia. The 6'1 215 pounder was pulled up in 1v1s to the upperclassmen group and watching his live reps, Cooper blended in easily with the top-tier linebackers in Brookings. Cooper was elusive getting his hands off blocks and I was in awe of the downhill pursuit angles this young man showed off constantly as just a LB prospect entering his sophomore year. The tape is light, he's not Twitter yet, but surely Cooper comes off as a hidden gem at this time that college coaches need to know now not later from a stock perspective, as I was fired up every rep I got to watch out this young man.

One linebacker that I could tell quickly you wouldn't want to meet in the backfield at the SDSU prospect camp was Evam Glider of Edina. This young man was one of the most phyical dudes at the point the attack and showed it consistently in the bulk of reps I watched out of his reps. The verified 6'0+ 223 pounder also showed off well-versed change of direction in testing with a 4.65 in the pro agility. Yet another 2026 prospect still hunting for his first offer as one that processes with quick vision and ahead of the curve game-speed over the several reps I watched from Evan.

Easily my favorite running backs I grasped quickly in the live eval at the SDSU prospect camp, was Thompson (ND) 2026 running back/athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1227001' first='Charlie' last='Yon']g. He is one of the more surprising ones that doesn't have an offer yet in North Dakota, as Charlie showed off a vicious stiff arm in one particular rep I watched and that wasn't the only skillset or rep he caught my attention. Charlie shows off a running back that is extremely fluid and in Brookings I felt has grown with how he gets his yards thru contact which was another bright spot. He broad jumped 9'7, 4.78 in the 40 yard dash, 4.52 in the pro agility all at an ideal RB size at 5'10 190 pounds. Charlie sure seems like a great NSIC fit in these eyes that doesn't have his first offer yet and I can tell you, is a prospect that it didn't take long to gauge his outstanding character.
