As we get closer and closer to the start of the 2025 high school football season, we have begun a new round of rankings updates. The latest class to be updated in the state of Kentucky is the class of 2028. With these rankings being posted, I will be taking the next week to break these rankings down by position. After already covering the quarterbacks and running backs, here are our top wide receivers/tight ends in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='871291' first='Avery' last='Thompson'] is a rising star in the state of Kentucky. In a crowded wide receiver room last season, Thompson caught 36 passes for 454 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games. Avery does a great job of using his speed and smooth breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. Once he has the ball in his hands, he has shown the speed and elusiveness to turn short passes into big gains at any given moment. Thompson currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect that list to continue to grow over the next three seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='871288' first='Kingston' last='Dillard'] truly burst onto the scene as a freshman, leading his team in receiving with 41 catches for 596 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games. Dillard is electric in open space once he gets the ball in his hands, showing the elusiveness to make defenders miss and the breakaway speed to run away from the defense for big gains. He has also proven to be an impressive route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. Dillard also scored one rushing touchdown as a freshman. Kingston currently holds an offer from Kentucky Wesleyan and I expect more to come his way as I see him having the potential to become a Division I caliber prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1269565' first='Jace' last='Hagy'] is another receiver who impressed as a freshman, catching 28 passes for 435 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. Hagy has explosive speed which he uses to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease in the deep passing game. He is also dangerous after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes/screens into big gains. Jace also returned one kickoff for a touchdown this past season and made an impact on defense, finishing the year with 27 tackles and one tackle for loss. Hagy is a player who I expect college coaches to be paying close attention to over the next three years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240849' first='Jude' last='Lanier'] made an immediate impact as a freshman, catching 21 passes for 480 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games. Lanier is an impressive route runner, showing the ability to find openings in zone coverage to settle into to give his quarterback an easy target. After the catch, Lanier has shown the ability to get up the field quickly to pick up extra yards with ease. Jude has received some college interest and I expect his recruitment to continue to heat up going into his sophomore year.

To wrap up our top five receivers in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1089872' first='Kane' last='Bell-Pointer']. Kane is a skilled route runner, using his quick release and breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. He also has very reliable hands, showing the ability to make catches away from his body regardless of what type of coverage is around him. As a freshman, Bell-Pointer caught 13 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown in 10 games. Kane doesn't currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='952775' first='Jayvion' last='Fullwood'] is our top tight end in the state in the class of 2028. He has shown the ability to use his speed to serve as a vertical threat down the seam in the passing game. When the ball is thrown his way, he has shown the ability to use his length and athleticism to catch the ball at its highest point with ease. Jayvion finished his freshman year with 37 receptions for 450 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games. Fullwood is a player who college coaches should definitely keep a close eye on over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='871292' first='Lukas' last='Olmstead'] is the second and final tight end who made our updated top 75. Olmstead made an impact in the passing game as a freshman, catching 11 passes for 144 yards in 11 games. Lukas has strong hands, showing the ability to bring in passes with ease, even while absorbing contact. After the catch, Olmstead has shown the ability to get up the field quickly to pick up extra yards. Lukas should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next three seasons.
