Under the Radar – Part VIII

He has a great combination of size and speed. That length and quickness allows him to get downhill fast when attacking the line of scrimmage. Those attributes also give him great range when he does play the deep safety position. Tangen is a big hitter who doesn't make the big hit by flying into the play out of control. He has good explosion off the snap and quickness to beat tackles both with inside and outside moves. The Wildcats' athlete wins with speed and explosiveness. Still, he is physical enough with his hands to take on blockers head-on. What I did find showed that he has great speed. It is a skill he utilizes as a receiver, as well as out of the backfield with end-arounds. He is a big hitter with solid tackling technique. Part of his effectiveness against the run is his ability to transition from his backpedal, putting his foot in the ground and getting downhill quickly. That quick transition ability also allows him to break on routes run underneath. Homstad's quick feet and straight-line speed allow him to play sideline to sideline. It showed the Eagles' quarterback can do a bit of everything. He showed his arm strength with a deep ball. Then, he layered a pass into tight coverage on a crossing route. The next play showed Kellen completing a pass under extreme pressure - throwing deep off his back foot as he got lit up. Finally, he took the ball on a read option around the corner. He showed his speed and athletic ability to outrun the defense to the goal line for a fifty-yard touchdown run.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
