Top Throwers and Catcher's from MSU prospect camp

Last week I received the honor to cover the Missouri state College prospect camp. Ryan Beard and his staff did a wonderful job of putting together one of the best college prospect camps I ever attended, and I would like to thank everyone on the staff for allowing me to be a part of such a great event.   I may have to say I think the strongest group on the day had to be the passing and catching groups in Springfield, Missouri. The six athletes in this article really made a lasting impression on me and I'm excited to share my experience.    With good size and explosive speed is Mr. Wahl from lighthouse Christian.   [player_tooltip player_id='1692273' first='Levi' last='Wahl'] just walked into camp and it's pretty hard not to notice this athlete, standing at a very well put together 6'3 213 pounds. When you have this big of an athlete you worry about how quick their movements are on the football field. Watching Wahl get in and out of breaks and move very fluidly at the top of every route he ran, you don't have to worry about this prospect.   He also tested high in every test conducted, running his 40-yard dash in under 5 seconds. during 7 on 7 periods Wahl used his height to his advantage by high pointing various catches thrown his way, he quickly became the qb's favorite target during this segment.   Wahl is going to be a name you want to remember the next two years in high school football.     Boster really solidified himself as one of the top wideouts in Southwest, Missouri.   When you sit down and watch Boster play football you get the feel that this man is a complete wide receiver, which is crazy to say because he's only going into his junior season. If you want a slot receiver he can do it, out wide receiver look no further, do you want a YAC receiver? Boster, has you covered.   I only had the opportunity to talk to the young man briefly at camp but during all the drills he was nothing but encouraging to all the other athletes in attendance which gives me the assumption that he is a high character type of player that all colleges love to have on the roster.   colleges should be on high alert for Boster.     Trevy came into camp with something to prove.   I would go on record to say that Barber was probably the quickest athlete that attended the MSU football camp. He made it extremely difficult for defensive backs to keep up with his movements, he moves side to side in a pretty impressive manner when he runs his routes, he almost made it an art form the way he can find his pockets get himself open.   He ran a blistering 4.50 forty-yard dash and killed the 5-10-5 drill. Barber is your prototypical slot receiver that is going to get open in a hurry, although he is very well-built athlete so i believe he will hold up just fine lined up out wide.   There is no question that Barber is going to play college football, at this point it's just figuring out where?     With crazy catches back-to-back at camp Banker deserves the recognition.   Every athlete that attends college prospect camps just wants to leave a lasting impression on the coaching staff by doing that you have to stay consistent and make some splash plays. Banker did everything he could to make you remember his name. He caught everything thrown his way in every drill I saw him participate in.   When it came to the 1-on-1 segment nobody had a better day than Banker. He made some very tough catches in the endzone with the defensive back draped all over him. I love his competitive nature he just wants to win and compete.   Banker is just a junior, so he is just getting started colleges will take notice.     Mcknight was absolutely locked in at the MSU football camp.   Mcknight recorded a phenomenal camp last weekend. It's hard to find a more athletically gifted signal-caller than Adam Mcknight out of Nixa Missouri. As a sophomore he led the eagles to the state championship game and still has two more years to play high school ball.   When Mcknight drops back and lets the football go it explodes off his right hand. He quickly gathered a rhythm in throwing drills, and it turned into a show to watch. He crushed any doubt that he can't be a pocket passer.   Mcknight earned an offer from Missouri state and was well deserved and I'm sure more offers are on the horizon.     Poised and ready for the next step is [player_tooltip player_id='1222934' first='Chase' last='Cooper'] from De Smet.   When you have a quarterback like Dillon Duff leave to play college football you automatically think who is going to fill that void? From what I saw from camp they will be in good hands with young [player_tooltip player_id='1222934' first='Chase' last='Cooper']. He gives off an energy that you just believe you're in good hands if he's under center.   Even though he is only a sophomore he has the charisma of a player much older. I think his best moment were in the 7-on-7 portion when he showed the ability to scan through his progressions and make the smart decision to keep the chains moving.   I believe that cooper is really on the rise and will be a household name in Missouri very soon.
