Football prospects come in all shapes and sizes. They also toil at schools with varying enrollments. While many of the bigger ones consistently produce college recruits, dudes certainly can be found in the smaller classifications on any Friday night.

Seventy seven percent of Columbus' offense in 2024 came on the ground. That production was complemented by an efficient passing game engineered by Phillips, who completed 66 percent of his throws with nine touchdowns. He also shared punting responsibilities. Phillips' highlight video reveals a signal caller that stands out for touch and accuracy. He gets the ball downfield with an easy, smooth throwing motion. Phillips leads his receivers and can fit the ball into small windows. While there aren't a lot of designed runs in the Wildcat attack, Phillips can move and extend plays with his legs.

In a season lacking an abundance of highlights, Billick was one Wolverine who enjoyed a memorable 2024. The junior produced 15.0 tackles (10 solo, 1.0 TFL) and also aided the cause as an offensive lineman. He stands out for his physicality when watching his 11th-grade film. There are clips where he overcomes blocks and chips, and others where he tosses the offensive tackle out of the way. It's impressive strength for a student-athlete still with plenty of room to go before he fills out his frame. Billick benefits from long arms and quickness, which he should maintain even as he matures.

Scranton contributed mightily for a Raider outfit that won nine games and reached the state quarterfinals. He rushed for 384 yards (7.4 YPC) and six touchdowns, and caught three more scores. On defense, Scranton totaled 34.0 tackles (24 solo, 9.0 TFL) and 5.0 sacks. Scranton's Hudl page holds highlights from several games during his junior season of 2024. He's a disruptive defender capable of delivering from various spots in the formation. His best work happens coming off of the end, where he sets the edge and separates well from blocks when the ball comes his way. With his frame and quickness, Scranton could fit at linebacker or safety in other schemes.

North Mahaska brings back a lot of talent from last year's solid squad. Goemaat is the leading returning rusher after pacing the team in carries a season ago and running for three touchdowns. He also caught five passes and contributed on defense. The junior highlight video provides evidence on how Goemaat gets the job done. Much of it is speed and quickness. It's a cut or two and off to the races. Goemaat is effective between the tackles due to patience and burst.

The Knights were knocked out by eventual state champion, West Lyon, in last year's quarterfinals. They return a good deal of talent from that squad and should be in the hunt for a UNI-Dome trip in 2025. Badding could be a key component for achieving that goal. He threw for 2,150 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior last fall, and added four scores on the ground. Badding's junior highlight video shows us a quarterback working from the pocket but also capable of moving it. His mechanics are sound from foot work to release. The ball comes out with zip, but Badding can take something off the throws when touch is required.

Polking can best be described as a good football player. He carries the rock, catches it, plays defense and is the team's place kicker. Last year, he connected on 26 of 30 extra-point attempts and booted three kickoffs for touchbacks. Polking's junior highlight video is entertaining. It has him catching passes but also laying out opponents with blocks that free up teammates for big gains from an H-Back spot. Recruit Polking as an athlete knowing you have an emergency kicker on the roster, too.
