Recruiting Report (6/9)- Newest Commitments Across Alabama

As we head further into the offseason, the recruiting world only keeps moving.   Today, we are highlighting some of the newest commitments across the state! These guys are so deserving and have such bright futures ahead, so we're diving into where's next for them.   As always, check out their tape below- we have so much talent here in Alabama, you won't want to miss these prospects before they're off to the next level!    [player_tooltip player_id='1626485' first='DJ' last='Broughton'] is a dominant pass catcher out of Mary G. Montgomery who had a great season last fall, and a huge day yesterday.   "At 6'5 215, Borughton is a matchup nightmare for opposing DBs. He uses his size to his advantage in a bunch of different ways- consistently dominating DBs by mossing them deep downfield, playing through contact to haul in catches, and never being brought down after first contact.   Broughton is especially dominant in the redzone. Last season, he was incredibly consistent and came away with a ton of huge scoring plays for his offense. One thing that really stood out to me with Broughton's tape was his versatility- he lines up almost everywhere on the field, and can make plays outside, in the slot, and even at TE in certain packages."   Yesterday, Broughton committed to USF! It'll be exciting to watch him this fall and on to the next level; he's a talented prospect with a bright future ahead.   Check out some of Broughton's tape below:      Jaylin Taylor is an impressive WR out of Oxford who dropped some big news on us yesterday evening.   "Taylor was dominant last fall. He lined up and created a ton of explosive plays against some talented secondaries across the state and is only just warming up for his senior year this fall.   Taylor plays with a ton of speed and quickness out wide- he is a talented route runner who gains tons of separation at every level of the field. On top of that, Taylor has incredibly reliable hands and consistently makes huge catches along the sideline, downfield, and through coverage and contact."   Taylor was fantastic last season, he recorded 89 receptions for 1436 yards and 14 TDs on the year.   Late yesterday, Taylor announced his commitment to Marshall! They are getting a dynamic WR in their 2026 class in Taylor, he's a talented playmaker with a huge year ahead.   Check out some of his film below:      Michael Bowens Jr is a dominant OL prospect out of Neal we've really been impressed by this offseason.   “Bowens has been dominant at LT, especially as a run blocker- at 6'5 250, he moves really well, plays with great leverage, and has a ton of strength/power he uses to pancake defenders at the line of scrimmage and further downfield.   It's seriously impressive watching him move from level to level- he opens up massive rushing lanes for the ball carrier and is a huge asset to his team's ground game. Bowens is just as valuable in pass protection- he does a great job setting his feet, countering rush moves, and being an anchor on his side of the line, rarely allowing any pressure on his QB.“   Bowens dropped some big news on us last night by announcing his commitment to Memphis! The 901 is getting a huge addition upfront, it'll be fun watching Bowens play for them at the next level.   Check out some of Bowen's film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='401124' first='Le'Kamren' last='Meadows'] is a dominant RB out of Moody who had a big development in his recruitment over the weekend.   “Meadows is a tough back to stop. He's extremely patient, has great vision, and consistently finds wide-open rushing lanes to move the ball through. At 6'0 210, Meadows plays with impressive speed, twitch, and contact balance that help him dominate defenses every snap. At his size and speed, Meadows requires multiple defenders to bring him down in the open field- he's a dominant back with tons of great traits.”   Meadows is coming off a big year last fall, recording 149 carries for 1037 yards and 12 TDs and 11 receptions for 157 yards and 2 TDs through the air.   Last Saturday, Meadows announced his commitment to WKU! It'll be awesome watching Meadows suit up for his senior season this fall, and for the Hilltoppers over the next few years- he's a talented player with a great future ahead.   Check out some of Meadows' film below:      As I was writing this article, I saw some breaking news on KJ Johnson's recruitment and had to go ahead and include him.   "At 6'2 175, Johnson has great size and athleticism he uses to fly around the secondary and create big stops. Johnson is physical and incredibly reliable in coverage. He consistently shuts down WRs deep downfield and does a great job tracking the ball and using his hands to come away with impressive PBUs and INTs.   Johnson is also great against the run. He flies downhill, fills in lanes, and wraps up/delivers huge hits to RBs to stop them for little to no gain. With his speed, it's easy for Johnson to make plays from sideline to sideline- he's a rangy DB who can make plays in pursuit anywhere on the field."   About 30 minutes ago, Johnson committed to South Carolina! He's going to be a future star in their secondary, and I can't wait to watch- he's got everything you need in a DB.
