Recruiting Report (6/25)- Newest Commitments Across the State

As we head further into the offseason, the recruiting world only keeps moving.   Today, we are highlighting some of the newest commitments across the state! These guys have such bright futures ahead, so we're diving into where's next for them.   As always, check out their tape below- we have so much talent here in Alabama, you won't want to miss these prospects before they're off to the next level!    [player_tooltip player_id='1603673' first='Jai'Vale' last='Fredericks'] is a talented OL out of Daphne who made a big decision regarding his recruitment earlier today.   “At 6'6 290, Fredericks physically outmatches nearly everyone he lines up against. He has great size and athleticism, can pull and make blocks on the move, and has the strength/power to flatten defenders.   Fredericks is seriously impressive in pass protection and can embarrass pass rushers with his counter moves- consistently providing a clean pocket for his QB to work with and not allowing for any pressures/sacks.“   Earlier today, Fredericks committed to Louisiana! He'll be a great player for them- he's been a huge, reliable piece of Daphne's offensive line for several seasons now.   Check out some of what Fredericks can do:      [player_tooltip player_id='1622124' first='Ty' last='Sims'] is a talented S in Gadsden City's secondary who broke some big news on his socials earlier.   "Sims is highly athletic and does a great job utilizing his speed, instincts, and hands at the safety position. He can cover a lot of ground and consistently makes impressive sideline-to-sideline plays against the run and pass, coming up with huge stops all over the field. Sims is great in coverage- he isn't easily baited, doesn't get beat deep, and can get his hands on the ball to break up and haul in passes.   While Sims is great in coverage, he impressed me just as much with his run defense. He's a heat-seeking missile from the secondary who is excellent at finding, pursuing, and taking down the ball carrier no matter where he lined up pre-snap."   Sims played really well last season, ending the year with 31 total tackles (20 solo, one for loss).    A few hours ago, Sims committed to Mercer! I'm a big fan of Sims, he's a talented DB with a big season ahead for Gadsden City- everyone should watch out for him this fall.   Check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='401109' first='Jamarrion' last='Gordon'] has been a massive piece of Jackson's defense for several years now and just closed up his recruitment a few hours ago.   “Standing at 6'1 160, Gordon has great size and athleticism that allow him to press pass catchers at the line of scrimmage, disrupt routes, and limit separation on almost every single play.   Gordon's ball skills are also a major part of his game- he has a great set of hands he uses to contest passes, which consistently helps him rack up INTs and PBUs. Gordon is also a reliable run defender who's not afraid to step up and make tackles in the open field and behind the line of scrimmage.“   Gordon had another great season last fall, ending the year with 39 total tackles (29 solo, 4 for loss), one sack, 3 INTs, and 4 PBUs.   Gordon announced on Twitter he'd committed to North Carolina! It'll be exciting watching him this fall- he's got a huge senior year ahead of him.   You've got to watch some of Gordon's tape:      [player_tooltip player_id='856586' first='Jermaine' last='McCree'] is a talented DB out of Williamson who dropped some big recruiting news in the last 24 hours.   "McCree makes some terrific plays on the ball. He routinely baits opposing quarterbacks into bad passes and capitalizes by either breaking them up or picking them off.   In addition to his play against the pass, McCree does a lot in run support as well- he's a physical player who doesn't shy away from contact and can wrap up and deliver huge hits to the ball carrier."   Yesterday, McCree committed to Appalachian State! He's a big addition to their 2026 class - I'm really excited to see what he can do this fall and at the next level.   Check out some of McCree's tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='401099' first='Dylan' last='Cope'] has been one of our top WRs in the state's 2026 class for several years now and broke some massive news in his recruitment earlier today.   "Cope is a tough guy to stop- with his size and speed, he presents serious matchup problems for opposing DBs. Cope gains tons of separation off his routes, has a reliable set of hands, and can bring in huge receptions all over the field. It's seriously impressive how easy it is for Cope to get downfield- he has incredible speed and can easily outrun anyone he lines up across."   Cope had another great season last fall, ending his junior year with 40 receptions for 504 yards and 5 touchdowns.   Earlier today, Cope committed to Virginia! He's set up for a huge senior year this fall and has a great future ahead at the next level- we're all going to have to be on the lookout.   Cope put together some great film from last season:      [player_tooltip player_id='1144447' first='Michael' last='Price'] is a dominant OL out of Huntsville who has had an exciting offseason with his recruitment.   “Price is dominant in the run game and opens up wide rushing lanes at the line of scrimmage and beyond- he moves really well at his size and can work from level to level to deliver devastating blocks all over the field, consistently helping his teammates create huge plays on the ground.   Price is just as impressive, if not more, in pass protection- he's the anchor of Huntsville's OL and completely shuts down pass rushers on the left side, providing his QB plenty of time in the backfield to make plays."   Price announced a few days back that he committed to James Madison! I am a huge fan of what he can do upfront- it's going to be really exciting watching him and the rest of Huntsville's OL this fall.   Check out his tape below:      Christopher Leatherwood is a talented DB out of Blount who has been seeing his recruitment take off this offseason   "Standing at 6'1 175, Leatherwood has great size, plays with tons of speed and instincts, and is incredibly tough to throw against. Leatherwood is a productive run defender- he's quick to react and great at locating the ball carrier, fights off blocks, and is a talented tackler who doesn't allow for any additional yardage after making first contact.   Leatherwood is just as good in coverage, he's great in man, wins at the line of scrimmage, and wears down WRs downfield with his physicality. He has great ball skills and is great at using his length to make plays on the ball. I was super impressed with Leatherwood's tape, he's a versatile DB capable of impacting the run and pass who had a great season last fall."   Leatherwood finished his junior season with some impressive numbers, ending the year with 28 total tackles and 2 PBUs.    A few hours ago, Leatherwood committed to North Alabama!
