‘26 [player_tooltip player_id='540015' first='Chase' last='Stephens'] - Walker Valley

- Stephens kicked off his summer camp season in a big way by earning MVP honors for his position after a consistent, strong showing at the #PRZTN Showcase. This 6'1 passer had the most persistent display of throwing the ball on time and with power compared to his fellow competitors. Stephens showed confidence with his passing along with increased zip, which tells me he has been working at getting stronger this off-season. I do see the need for more strength, especially when throwing the deep ball but anything underneath, Stephens can be deadly accurate. His performance on Sunday definitely helped boost his stock in my eyes, where I'm expecting a breakout year this Fall for the Mustangs quarterback.

Running Back MVP

‘28 [player_tooltip player_id='1133753' first='DeSean' last='Burnette'] - Lakeland Prep

- One guy that certainly boosted his stock on Sunday and got himself on my radar was this West Tennessee ball carrier that is already physically built like an upperclassman but still has three years of high school ball remaining. Burnette was an impressive young man to follow throughout camp as he flashed excellent potential during each portion of camp. His positional work was on point, he tested well but Burnette really stood out during 1 on 1's as opposing linebackers had a hard time keeping up with him. Moving to Lakeland Prep this off-season, I expect Burnette to carve out a role on offense, maybe even become the team's starting running back but will certainly be a guy to watch for over the coming years.

Receiver MVP

[player_tooltip player_id='540040' first='Oliver' last='Bender'] - Nolensville

- I've known Bender for several years now as he is a multi-time competitor at our Showcase's but it finally feels like he has grown into the kind of body that is needed to compete on the college level. The Knights senior displayed excellent ball skills and potential at Sunday's camp that landed him MVP honors but more so to me, he showed what he could become in college and that's a possible flex tight end. Bender has packed on 20 plus pounds while maintaining his speed (Ran a 4.6 on Sunday) and continuing to enhance his concentration and hands. It will be fun to follow his camp action this summer and see how he performs this Fall as I could see D1 schools coming in late and getting involved with Bender.

O-line MVP

Caden Thacker - Pikeville (Ky)

- One of the biggest surprises from our Summer Showcase was this Bluegrass State big man that proved to be the best from his position group and a definite under the radar talent that should see his stock rise over the coming months. Thacker has an impressive body and frame along with nice arm length and athleticism that could allow him to work at tackle in college. This 6 '4 blocker did a good job on Sunday with his positional work, showing off nice athletic movements then proceeded to bring that mobility into 1 on 1's where Thacker nearly dominated the competition. There is a lot of upside here with this Kentuckian that has room to pack on more weight and become a forceful O-lineman one day on the college level.

D-line MVP

‘27 [player_tooltip player_id='1249345' first='Landen' last='Brody Combs'] - Ardmore (AL)

- An unknown headed into this camp, Combs proved his worth in a big way by earning MVP honors for the D-line after a consistent, steady performance at the Prep Redzone TN Summer Showcase. Standing about 6'1 270 plus pounds, Combs is a versatile D-lineman that fits the role of a 3-tech tackle that showed a mature approach to rushing the backfield. The Yellowhammer State native did excellent work throughout the entire camp but really stood out in 1 on 1's where he became unblockable. He showed excellent initial strength as well as high knowledge in knowing how to get through blockers where he constantly made his way to the quarterback. Combs is a little undersized but makes up for it with football intelligence and a motor that doesn't slow down.

Linebacker MVP

‘27 [player_tooltip player_id='906648' first='Chevy' last='Armour'] - Chatt. Prep

- It was tough competition to earn MVP for the linebackers but by the end of the day, this Chattanooga area defender proved to be the best of his position group. Armour's work started early in the day as he performed well during testing then proceeded to put in good work during positional drills. The Sentinels junior backer is well built physically with some broad shoulders and solid arm length that works well in the middle. His work going against the running backs on Sunday proved to be a difference maker in making him our MVP. He covered well in space but used his physicality to slow down routes on a consistent basis. More foot speed and agility is needed for Armour but this is a rock solid prospect that showed nice potential over the weekend.

Defensive Back MVP

[player_tooltip player_id='1667366' first='Caleb' last='Odom'] - Middle College

- Traveling all the way to Mid-Tennessee from the Memphis area, Odom made his trip count as he performed at a high level throughout the camp as he eventually went on to take MVP honors for the defensive backs. The Bulldogs senior defender did solid in testing but really started to pick things up during positional drills and then into 1 on 1 work. Odom showed a clean, efficient game style on Sunday where he read the quarterback well, making quick decisions and breaks on the ball while displaying nice physicality. This is a versatile prospect that fits well at nickel but could handle some safety duties as well. Odom is undersized but more than makes up for it with aggressive game play and high football intelligence.
