New region, same success for Bamberg-Ehrhardt

Moving to Region IV-A, we saw the Red Raiders maintain their top standing. Led by quarterback Chanston Crosby, Bamberg-Ehrhardt went undefeated in region play for the third time in four years.

Meanwhile, there's uncertainty for the other schools. Ridgeland and Hardeeville split again into separate schools. Allendale-Fairfax is coming off a winless season. Denmark-Olar looks to replace its more versatile player Robert Bovain.

So which players will step up and perform at an MVP level to help their respective teams?

Allendale-Fairfax Tigers

TreQuan Jenkins LB, 2026

An aggressive tackler, he was a bright spot for the winless Tigers. He battled for all 84 tackles and fumble recovery amassed during the 2024 season. The 5-foot-8, 170-pound rising senior was utilized at middle linebacker, but often lined up to make tackles. If Allendale-Fairfax is to snap their 11-game losing streak, it will start with the senior leadership provided by Jenkins.

Bamberg Ehrhardt Red Raiders

[player_tooltip player_id='816740' first='Marcus' last='Cann'] WR, 2026

Cann was one of five Red Raiders selected to South Carolina Football Coaches Association Class A All-State team. He was one of Crosby's leading targets with 39 receptions for 704 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 343 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. He added 196 yards and three touchdowns in the playoffs. At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, Cann's versatility will be key for the Red Raiders' success with a new starting quarterback.

Denmark-Olar Vikings

Nyheem Brimfield QB, 2028

As a freshman, he provided an immediate boost for first-year head coach Matt Raysor. Brimfield (pictured) rammed his way to 1,257 total yards and 15 touchdowns at quarterback, running back and wide receiver. He was also a force upfront with 47 tackles, nine for loss, and three tackles for the Vikings. His 6-foot-4, 218-pound frame nearly matches that of his uncle, former Hunter-Kinard-Tyler and Tennessee lineman William Brimfield, at same age.

Ridgeland Jaguars

[player_tooltip player_id='1639884' first='Cordell' last='Mclain'] DL, 2026

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound rising senior is the team's returning leader in tackles. He tallied 60 tackles and four sacks in 10 games in helping the Jaguars place second in the region. McClain also showed good hands at tight end both catching and blocking. He's a highly active athlete who loves staying on the field.

Hardeeville Hurricanes

Camari Brown RB, 2026

New head coach Arthur Gardner will look to lean upon the senior leaders left from the separation with Ridgeland. A Class A Lower State 200 meters champion, Brown can break plays running and catching the football. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder also played safety and cornerback, where he was utilized on blitz packages. His coverage ability and fundamentally strong tackling skills will be crucial for the Hurricanes' team reestablishing their own identity.

New region, same success for Bamberg-Ehrhardt
