His ability to fire off the ball is impressive, as he looks like he is fired out of a cannon. Then, as a pass rusher, he is dynamic and runs through helpless offensive tackles trying to block him. His explosive athleticism can get him in trouble when he gets out of position. He is also good at being a run defender and attacking down the line to stop the run well. His ability to make plays with his feet is excellent from the quarterback position. He is equally as good on designed quarterback runs or when the play breaks down and he needs to scramble for big plays. He also shows a good arm and throws with anticipation well. He threw the ball into tight windows at a high level. Johnson also played as a defensive back last year, and he played at a high level.  He was excellent at making plays on the ball thrown in his direction. He is a physical football player who is a matchup piece on offense for William Allen. He was used as a slot receiver and as a wing last year. As a slot receiver, he shows good ability to get open and catch the ball. He has excellent hands as he can catch the ball in traffic well. Then, playing as a wing on offense, he was used as a run blocker well. He blocked on the edge and blocked against a linebacker at the next level well. He was also used in the passing game as a wing in short passes and caught the ball well. His ability to make plays inside and outside the pocket is excellent. He is a true gun slinger who looks comfortable when the play breaks down and he scrambles around to make a play. In the pocket, he has good mechanics and footwork. He reads the defense well and has a good understanding of where he wants to put the ball. He is a good athlete who has amazing size (6'4"), who could end up playing in college as an athlete as well as a quarterback. Simply said, you do not see many 6'4" tall athletes that move like him. As a quarterback, he has good skills. He was excellent when he was on the move, on sprint out passing plays where he could roll out and throw the ball. He was also good on option run plays, where he could use his speed to run by defenders. As a thrower of the football, his mechanics are solid, and he throws a good ball. He just needs to add some velocity to his throws, and it would help him throw the ball into tight windows.
