Johnny showed off the explosiveness that I have seen grow since the 7v7 season, catching our attention early with a 9'2 broad jump to start his day in St. Paul. He showed off his versatility that is there for him as a route-runner, as Johnny could showed off glue like hands on any route and showed off how well he could excel in high traffic areas. He has been one that I have surprised doesn't have his first offer yet as he showed off as one of the top wide receivers in my eyes at the Midwest Academic Camp at MAC. Also, ran an eye catching 4.45 in the pro agility which is another a testament to his change of direction on his routes.

A 2027 running back that seems to have caught my attention at nearly every camp I have seen him in attendance this spring/summer is [player_tooltip player_id='1694140' first='Gage' last='Halvorson'] of Eagan. This young man launched a 4.47 with his pro agility which was a surprise some but not to me, as Gage was one of my top RBs I had recorded in my notebook at the Training Haus/MFCA Combine in Eagan a handful of weeks ago. Not much tape out there for Gage at the moment, but this kid has made his impressions in the live evals our PRZ staff has gotten. Seems like too, Gage has position flexibility so he should surely be a Willcat to watch this fall.

A 2028 linebacker that is a clear cut new name to our radar that caught my attention was Griffin Provost of Breck. You can take the current measurables out of the equation at the moment, as Griffin ran a 4.59 in the pro agility which was in the top tier of pro agility numbers I heard at the Midwest Academic Camp at Macalester. Unfortunately, I had to leave early and wasn't able to watch Griffin as much as I would have liked, but man I'll be intrigued to watch this kid in the coming years as one of a couple 2028s that stuck out to us in St. Paul.

One of the only standouts from the Midwest Academic Camp out of the state of Michigan was Ryan Fresquez out of Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep. I felt Ryan possessed one of the bigger motors in the linebacker group and it wasn't just the motor that impressed me. Ryan also recorded a 4.63 pro agility at 5'8 206 pounds. Don't let the size fool you, this young man is rangey and can play sideline to sideline as a middle linebacker. One thats undersized, but under the radar in my eyes, as this young man would be one I would be recruiting to play on Saturdays.

In our eyes, Aiden was one of the most technical sound offensive linemen we saw in attendance at the Midwest Academic Camp at Macalester. Aiden intrigued me with his sound base from the jump even while watching testing, as his movement from the jump appeared fluid and the lateral movement he showed for his size was intriguing. Later into 1v1s, Aiden continued showing that consistency with his footwork as he showed off some of the softest feet I have seen in reps at camps this summer. He was well-versed too with his hand placement as his plad level was on point for the bulk of the reps I watched in St. Paul as he also showed off a more sudden drive blocking ability than I expected. His recruitment his picked up steam finally in June with a couple offers already from the D3 level.

Another top-tier trench monster this time on the defensive side of the trenches, came from [player_tooltip player_id='1262647' first='Ryan' last='Layeux'] of Eastview. Even when I started watching Ryan in the pro agility, I could tell that this young man had some athletic gifts for his size as he ran inside a 4.9 in the pro agility at nearly 5'11 245 pounds. I recall watching Ryan at the UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp, and remembering his wins on double teams in 1v1 due to his well-versed reach, which he provided consistency to me seeing that corelating skillset in St. Paul last Wednesday. He is one that is starting to pick up steam in the D3 ranks, picking up his first offer in the MIAC recently.

A new name for me out of Colorado that stood out in the LB group at the Midwest Academic Camp at MAC, was Henry Ruf of Regis Jesuit HS outside of Denver. Henry caught the attention of both our PRZ scouts in attendance in St. Paul, as what I saw from Henry is a LB prospect that probably had one of the biggest motors I watched amongst the linebacker group in these eyes and processed at a higher game-speed as well outside of his testing numbers. Henry also showed this off with some of his release points in individual drills, as I caught a handful of reps where this young man showed how wirey and sudden he could be out of his stance. Certainly a LB prospect out of CO, that can play on Saturdays.

Tristan was a linebacker I wish I could have watched more reps out of later in camp before I had to hit the road, as I liked what the Blaine 2026 target brought the table in the early reps I watched. The churning motor that Tristan brought to the table was evident is darn near every rep I watched in St. Paul, and what made it more impressive is how natural he looked playing multiple other positions during the Midwest Academic Camp. He certainly to our eyes, again opened up his position flexibility to other spots on both sides of the ball, which I also will say I am surprised Tristan doesn't have his first offer yet being how frequent he has stood out at combines and camps over the last handful of months.

Another offensive linemen that finished in our "top tier" in the OL group was another OL prospect that has been persistent at camps this spring/summer in East Ridge 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1533984' first='Haydin' last='Galvan']. The continued growth for Haydin has shown with his hip mobility in my eyes, as I have been impressed with the growth of fluidity Haydin has gathered into spring camps into summer. Another area where I have seen Haydin's growth comes with his hand placement as I have seen Haydin become even more coachable and creating a quick growth curve anytime there is new skillsets he can grow into. He fits the bill for the high academic schools too, with a 32 ACT which should impress several MIAC schools in my eyes.

One of the most sound 2026 prospects PRZ scouts encoutered at the Midwest Academic Camp at MAC, came from River Falls defensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id='1555346' first='Jack' last='Larsen'], as he was one of my personal favorites both sides of the trenches all day in St. Paul. If I dished out a DL MVP from MAC, Jack would get my vote as there are several skillsets that stood out in my eyes. Eye catching change of direction, sound fluidity on every rep, great mix of power and speed, great hands and finish at the point of attack, and played with a grueling motor on every rep I got to watch. Clearly, the talents were seen by college coaches in attendance, as Jack got his second offer from a MIAC school in attendance within days after camp.

Easily one of the top 2028 prospects in attendance at the last couple of camps I have been in attendance at in Minnesota, was Zimmerman offensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id='1683376' first='Carson' last='Stay']. The verified nearly 6'3 240 pounder, has a sound roof of upside and has gotten quality reps this camp season to probably be a stockriser in the coming months in my eyes. Carson showed off loose hips for his age, and was more affluent with tight angles during individual drills that most offensive linemen for his age. No doubt that Carson is gifted athletically for his age, as one that had sound hand placement, sound drive-blocking ability, and is one that I have seen continuously as one that proceeds as a finisher on every rep. Excited to see Carson's growth over the next several years especially being from our by my neck of the woods in Zimmerman.
