Wheeler, an offensive tackle, is exceptional at adjusting his path to moving, second-level defenders really well. Once he gets to those linebacker-types, he latches on to them like a parasite in full control of their victim. When doubling he gets a really good pop, but again, focuses on getting to the second level defender. As a run blocker, he excels at out blocks.

Coming out of St. Joseph's Regional is [player_tooltip player_id='402203' first='Cristian' last='Alvarez']. Alvarez's greatest strength might be the strength in his hands, as he grabs cloth on the inside to control his matchup. When pulling we see him have a forward lean that allows him to deliver solid impact blocks. Mr. Fundamental, Alvarez has a good base that he manages to maintain when drive blocking - especially showcased when working on double teams, where he often turns defenders' shoulders from his attacking point; as such, Alvarez puts himself in prime positon to win at the second level. Similarly, he gets tremendous vertical displacement on his doubles well. Skip pulling comes easy, as Alvarez keeps his eyes peeled inside for the first possible treat. When pass setting, I thought Alvarez showed good balance, staying light on his feet so he is able to adjust and counter.

I am the first to admit it: my love for public school football tends to steer my coverage away from the privates - who certainly get their due - let alone the post-graduate schools. However, Lawrenceville's [player_tooltip player_id='1286664' first='Joshua' last='Witherspoon'] is a good one we need to take note of. Witherspoon gets tremendous pop with his upper body and absolutely stunts defenders like deer in headlights when he punches in pass protection. His strong upper body remains a constant when he is able to work his clamp technique or lock out with his elbows tight, totally controlling his assignment. Physically it appears that Witherspoon has extremely long arms and has been well coached on how to use them. Additionally, Witherspoon does a great job of getting movement on double teams.

Class of 2026 Rankings Update Coverage

Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part I
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part II
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part III
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part IV
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part V
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part VI
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part VII
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part VIII
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part IX
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part X
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part XI
Ranking Evaluation Scouting Notes, Part XII
Athlete Film Room, Part I
Defensive Back Film Room, Part I
Defensive Line Film Room, Part I
Defensive Line Film Room, Part II
Linebacker Film Room, Part I
Offensive Line Film Room, Part I
Quarterback Film Room, Part I
Running Back Film Room, Part I
Special Teams Film Room
Wide Receiver Film Room, Part I
Biggest Rankings Jump, Ranked Prospects, Part I
Watchlist Prospects that Entered the Top 25

Film is one of the best tools to self-scout, evaluate, and improve. As is the case with any rankings update, we want to celebrate and highlight select prospects who had some really nice film and talk about their game. That said kill the lights, close the blinds, and turn the projector on and join me, as we prepare to enter the film room to discuss what I saw on film.
