Spring Rankings Update: 2026 Edge Rusher New Additions

Now in our second week of content covering our spring rankings update for the 2026 class, we're focused on the defensive side of the ball. We only recently separated edge rushers and interior defensive linemen, but it's been a helpful change and we added several new edge rushers to the rankings.   After looking at <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/05/spring-stock-risers-2026-edge-rusher-report/">edge rusher stock-risers</a>, we're looking at six new additions, two from the watch list and four from outside of the rankings altogether.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2026 Edge Rusher New Additions</h2>    Prichard flew up our rankings after I dove into the film and saw him in person at our Prep Redzone Combine. He has excellent bend and long arms, which he continues to get better at using to keep tackles away from his body. You can see the development that has taken place between the end of the season and now, and I think we'll see even better results as a senior.     Wearing plays multiple places across the defensive line and is also a standout baseball player. He's at his best as an edge rusher, but often plays in a 3-man front, potentially limiting his impact. Still, he had some real production and some sacks that came off of almost immediate wins over offensive tackles and with some more refinement, he's a candidate to move up the rankings.     Bennett doesn't have a ton of film for Mallard Creek but stuffed the stat sheet last year with a pick six and several sacks, among other things. He's been active on the spring camp scene and while he needs to add some weight, he has huge potential thanks to his 6'5" frame. He's a guy who could have a huge senior season.     Perhaps surprisingly for his frame, Flowe is a better run defender than pass-rusher right now. He has great speed and lateral quickness and that translates to how he's able to get over to outside runs and screens. He'll want to add more weight, but his basic physical profile is excellent and we could see him start to see more action on the recruiting scene soon.     Childs had a breakout season as a junior, his first as a full-time starter, with six sacks for Cox Mill last season. He's performed well in camp settings, but I'm interested to see if he can drop his 40 time a bit and add some more weight. He's an instinctual player who should continue to improve with more reps at the varsity level.     While his raw pass-rushing numbers won't turn heads, Russ is a talented run defender with plenty of strength. He has the speed and instincts to get out and blow up screens and he has a frame that should allow him to add more weight. He's mainly a power rusher right now, but when he develops a more diverse pass-rushing set, the sacks will come, as he has all the physical tools needed to thrive.
